Thanks to Ian Miller, aka Teen Archer, for the intro/outro music. Approximately 93 minutes of joyous analysis.
I’ll stand by my statement earlier this year. Other than what Eno wrote about about Lester’s cutter, he found a consistent release on the Curveball. There is no doubt this is a big difference, moving from 29% to 40% Whiffs/Swing on the Curveball. I can’t find any other difference

I really wanted to consider Christian Yelich for 2015 Brantley.
Fantastic plate discipline, some speed, some power, but only 23 so more power could come and he was always expected to be a 15-20 home run guy. If he could cut back on the K’s ,I could see a .300/.380/.450 with something looking like maybe Shin-Soo Choo?
But he would need to change his approach. Very unusual profile as he has a career 12.7 HR/FB%…..But he hit 19.7% FB this year which is just crazy. .
In the next Podcast, it would be great if Eno could explain his spin rate article. He referenced that he did not have direct access to the trackman data, but somehow he created a metric that estimated spin rate (if I am understanding the article properly). It was a extremely interesting find on some players that might have late round value for 2015. Is the method he used to estimate spin rate, something that the readers of Fangraphs can calculate?
