Various News and Notes
According to Anthony Dicomo of MLB.com, Rene Rivera will be the catcher for Noah Syndergaard against the Rockies. Reportedly Syndergaard had complained to the Mets brass about the catching of Wilson Ramos, requesting that he get another one of the Mets catchers as his personal catcher, which was declined by the team initially. Syndergaard has been better with other catchers behind the plate, but not as drastically as the catcher ERA would indicate. This will mean that Ramos will miss two of the three starts in Colorado, hurting his fantasy value this week.

Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-5 with a home run on Monday. Nimmo missed most of the season with a back injury, but has come back and played fairly well for the Mets, hitting .241/.465/.655 with three home runs and a stolen base in 43 plate appearances since being activated from the IL on September 1st. Monday also marked his first game leading off, which would be a huge boon to his value if that became a regular thing.

Marcus Semien went 3-for-5 with a home run versus the Royals on Monday. Semien has been fantastic, but how good he has been a bit overlooked.

He is currently going outside the top 120 in ADP in the #2EarlyMock drafts for 2020 and appears to be an underrated asset heading into 2020.

Quick Hits
Matthew Boyd was scratched from his start on Monday due to a family issue.

Domingo Santana is expected to be activated from the IL today.

Joey Votto was scratched from the lineup due to an illness.

Brandon Woodruff will be activated from the 10-Day IL to start for the Brewers on Tuesday.

Josh Van Meter was removed from the game on Monday due to a family emergency.

According to manager Bob Melvin, Stephen Piscotty is unlikely to play again in the regular season for the A’s.

Lucas Giolito will be shut down for the rest of the season with a lat strain. The injury itself is a minor one, but the White Sox have no reason to risk GIolito at the end of his breakout season.

No Trout, no Ohtani, and possibly (probably?) no Upton. The Angels look mighty, mighty streamable right now. Calhoun is the only player with a projected ROS wOBA over .305 and he’s only at .317.

only thing is the teams they’re playing- you probably already own a lot of- Yankees, Astros, A’s, Astros.

Thought of that after I posted. Might be some opportunity there if the Astros rest some guys and give some minor leaguers or bullpen guys a game or two in there., but of course you’re risking short outings then.

yeah..

A really sneaky guy that you might look at for the Angels is actually Pujols. last 25 games he’s batting .299 with 5 homers and 23 RBI. Since the All Star Break he’s batting .276 with 10 homers and 44 RBI. He’s only owned by 12% in yahoo leagues… He’s only 4 homers away from Willie Mays, so might try to get that over with this season.
