Dustin Pedroia was placed on the 10-day DL with a sprained wrist. According to reports, there is no structural damage, so that is good news. Pablo Sandoval was activated from the DL to take his spot on the roster. Devin Marrero and Josh Rutledge will man second base in Pedroia’s sted.

The Astros place Joe Musgrove on the DL with shoulder discomfort. This doesn’t appear to be serious and should be a pretty short stay on the disabled list, but it is worth monitoring. David Paulino has been recalled to take his spot on the roster.

Miguel Sano was a late scratch on Tuesday with an illness which pretty much screwed me out of winning enough money in DFS to quit my day job. This won’t be a long term thing, but fantasy owners will need to monitor the Twins lineup tomorrow to make sure he is back in there.

Matt Andriese was removed from his start on Tuesday. He suffered a mild groin strain and was unable to finish out the second inning of his start. He is considered day-to-day at this time, but the Rays have some pretty good minor league depth in AAA in terms of starting pitchers, so it would not be surprising to see them play the cautious route and put him on the DL.

Vincent Velasquez was removed from his start in the second inning with a strained flexor tendon. During the inning Velasquez suffered a huge drop in velocity, which was a huge red flag. He stated following the game that the strain was mild, but he will most likely head to the DL and could be there long term depending on the results of a MRI.

Nelson Cruz was removed from Tuesday’s game after experiencing some tightness in his right calf. Manager Scott Servais said later that Cruz should be available for their game on Wednesday, where he can DH with the series moving back to Seattle.

Michael Morse was placed on the 7-day DL with a concussion. During the benches clearing brawl between the Nationals and Giants on Monday, Morse collided with a teammate and appears to have suffered a concussion because of it. Kelby Tomlinson has been recalled to take his place on the roster.

James Paxton is expected to be activated from the disabled list today to pitch against the Rockies at home.

A pitcher for today: Mike Clevinger vs. Oak

Clevinger has been pretty good in the Majors and Minors this year and gets the A’s at home. He won’t be under 50% owned after this week.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Jharel Cotton @ Cle

There are only five pitchers that qualify for this on Thursday: CC Sabathia, Wade Miley, Jharel Cotton, Yovani Gallardo, and Adalberto Mejia. Not a fantastic list so give me this guy with the best pitch in Cotton and highest upside in one start.

Nope. I’d keep Brantley and Eddie, unless you’re desperate for a closer. Arrieta is going to be okay, but not the same as years befoer.
