Trade Rumors!

According to the Boston Globe, there is a belief within some organizations that the Braves are likely to trade for Mike Moustakas. With Atlanta recently releasing Jose Bautista, they may be in the market for a third baseman especially if they want to compete for the NL East which they currently lead. His left handed bat would play well in Sun Trust, so this is something to keep an eye on.

According to Bob Nightengale, the Tigers are getting some interest on Francisco Liriano. Liriano has once again become a “fantasy zombie” (credit to the 06010 podcast) and is a cheaper starting pitching option for teams that don’t want to break the bank on guys like Chris Archer.

Various News and Notes

The Astros announced that they have released first baseman Jon Singleton. Singleton was a top prospect in fantasy for a while, but struggled in his time in the Majors and Minors. He also failed multiple drug tests, which took him off the field. He may end up on another minor league squad, but he has no value as of now.

According to manager Aaron Boone, Greg Bird could be back in a week. Boone was not able to give a definitive answer when talking to reporters and has the benefit right now of a lot of bodies, which would allow the Yankees to bring Bird along more slowly.

Rich Hill played catch on Monday prior to the Dodgers game versus the Rockies. This was really weird considering yesterday Dave Roberts said he would miss a month. Reportedly, Hill will ask permission from MLB to wear finger tape over the injury to attempt and pitch through the injury. Considering their previous rulings on things of this nature, it seems unlikely that he would get this granted. Just ask Trevor Bauer.

Streaming Pitchers Options

A pitcher for today: Matt Boyd at MIN

Boyd isn’t a special pitcher, but he has been very good this year and I am willing to continue ride him until the wheels fall off.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Dan Straily at NYM

The Mets have a .294 wOBA in the month of May and Straily looked good in his last couple of starts.

Do you like Dan Straily over someone like Kyle Gibson as a streamer tomorrow?
