Quick Hits

Ryan Weathers was placed on the 15-Day IL with a flexor strain. This could likely end his season. Brendan Beck was recalled to take his spot on the roster. 

Michael Soroka was placed on the 15-Day IL with shoulder inflammation. The hope is he will return after a minimum stay.

Brendan Donovan was placed on the 7-Day IL with a concussion. Patrick Wisdom was recalled to take his spot on the roster. 

Victor Bericoto left Sunday’s game with a knee injury. 

He is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Willy Adames left Sunday’s game with an elbow injury. He suffered the injury after sliding home in the first inning, but stayed in the game initially. He is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Garrett Mitchell left Sunday’s game with an arm injury after being hit by a pitch while attempting to lay down a bunt.

X-rays were negative. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

 

Various News and Notes
Tristan Peters went 2-for-4 with a home run in the victory over the Mets on Sunday.

Peters has been up and down this season, but he has been hot over his last 10 games, hitting three home runs with a .355 average. He is worth picking up off the wire while he is hot.

Nick Loftin went 3-for-4 with a home run in the victory over the Tigers on Sunday.

With the injuries on the Royals, Loftin has been playing more as a utility fielder. He doesn’t have a ton or power or speed, but he can do a little bit of everything. He has value in deeper leagues as a bench option.

Tyler Mahle threw five innings and allowed one run on six hits and two walks versus the Brewers in the victory over Brewers on Sunday.

Mahle pitched well, getting a 33% whiff rate on the fastball. The stuff hasnt been overwhelming since being traded to the Braves, but the results have been fantastic. He has a great matchup against the Rockies up next so he is worth a short term stream.

Streaming Pitchers (Under 50% in Yahoo)

Pitcher for Today: George Klassen vs CLE

Klassen has been great since his return from the minors and this is a nice matchup at home. 

Other Options: Jose Urquidy vs TEX. 

Pitcher for Tomorrow: Clay Holmes at ARI

Holmes has pitched great this season and has a nice matchup in Arizona. 

Other Options: Brady Singer at SF, Andrew Alvarez vs COL, Aaron Nola at SEA, Walbert Urena vs CLE.
