Paul Sporer: I’m pretty conservative on rookies, plus he’s coming from AA. .270, 4 HRs, 2 SBs

Tony: I continuously attempt to temper my expectations with Michael Fulmer, and yet he keeps dealing. Is it too soon for us to bring him into the conversation of top-20 starter?

Paul Sporer: He’s close, but I’m not quite sure he’s top-20 just yet. The AL is so weak that he’s definitely very high within his own league

DB: Who do you like ROS for OF depth and speed…Rajai or Leonys?

Paul Sporer: Rajai

Jim: Is Tyson Ross dead

Paul Sporer: Not to my knowledge

Chris: Do we see David Robertson get dealt this month? If not, think he hangs on to the closer’s gig all season?

Paul Sporer: I think they’ll be open to dealing him if they can slide him through to someone. Next bad blow up could earn him at least a break from the role unless it’s a month from now

this is not my real name: I’m hurting for wins and strikeouts in redraft format. The pitching on the wire is pretty thin, but the top options appear to be Berrios, Cashner, Eovaldi, Giolito, Nova and Bailey. How would you rank them going forward? Would you ditch Bregman or Musgrove for any of them?

Paul Sporer: Cashner, Berrios, and Musgrove are probably my favorite options of that group. I think Bregman might still have enough juice in the market to trade him instead of flat cutting him

Texas Dolly: Sam Dyson hasn’t exactly been dominating hitters lately like he did the first few months of the season. At the very least, did his leash get a little shorter with the addition of Jeffress?

Paul Sporer: Ya I can see it being shorter

Minty: 10 team, OBP, 30 roster, 8 bench with Arenado, Bryant, and a please stay at SS Correa. When should I stash Moncada at a keep forever price?

Paul Sporer: Might as well now if you really want him. Just takes one other person to mess your whole plan. If your league is aggressive on prospects, gotta move now

Dumpster Fiers: Time to cut Puig in a dynasty league? I’m tired of the headache, but I’m certain he will be traded and find his groove as soon as I drop him.

Paul Sporer: I’m reluctant to completely give up on him, but I get it. Is there NO way to trade him?

Paul Sporer: Really love Musgrove, but McCarthy is worth the gamble while healthy

Paul Sporer: Of course. I still love Walker. If you’re looking for someone who can really move the needle in the rest of the season, he’s up there

Paul Sporer: It’s reasonable, but I prefer Davis

Paul Sporer: I don’t think he will, but there is always a chance

MASH: Thoughts on Jake Thompson when he arrives?

Paul Sporer: He’s a big arm. Could be legit

Sammy: Super specific question but I really hope you’ll answer. I have a top 3 offense in my 11-team AL-only league. Drop my entire free agent budget on Lucroy or go the rest of the way with Sandy Leon?

Paul Sporer: I’d push on Lucroy

Don: Do you see Severino joining NYY rotation? Will he be effective?

Paul Sporer: Yes at some point, and of course I have no idea if he will be effective. Looked like fire last night, though. I’d still rate Walker a good bit higher, but Sevvy has the kind of stuff that can move the needle, too

Jays Fan: Shapiro says the Jays are moving Sanchez to the pen, then Gibby comes out yesterday saying nothing’s been 100% decided. Everything points to the move happening, but any chance the Jays could reverse course last minute? Also, what say you on the whole issue?

Paul Sporer: It’s pretty much a CYA situation because if they double his IP (which they’d have to for him to finish the season) and then he gets hurt, they’d get killed for it. Even by some of those pushing for him to stay in (nice when you don’t have to be accountable for what you say, huh?). I think the data suggests that a move to the pen doesn’t do anything to markedly decrease his chances at injury, though. So unless he’s ACTUALLY tiring and showing wear-down effects, I’d keep him in the rotation

Ya Habibi: Abreau has been such a bummer. Any optimism for him from now on? I’m tempted to drop him for Gyorko.

Paul Sporer: It’s been rough. The league has adjusted and he hasn’t pushed back. I have a hard time dropping him for Jedd, though

Dade Wavis: Think we see Wade Davis pitch again this season?

Paul Sporer: Unfortunately, no. I think he’s headed for TJ at some point 🙁

Paul Sporer: He’s up there. I’m a big Solarte fan. I was bummed when he got hurt

Erik: Would you waive Dave Robertson or Santiago Casilla for Bedrosian or Thornburg?

Paul Sporer: I think SF is more inclined to push Casilla out of role than DRob in Chicago so I’d cut Casilla for Bedrock

Rick: Thoughts on Musgrove ROS? Will he stay in rotation?

Paul Sporer: BIg big fan. I think he’ll get an audition, but unless he’s just too good to move out, he’ll go back to pen when McCullers returns

Julie: Would you drop bregman for benintendi in a dynasty league? Is bregman getting sent down for gurriel?

Paul Sporer: All that hype for Bregman gone after 34 PA? I can’t get behind that, sorry.

Ryker: Your thoughts on Nathan Eovaldi? I can’t think of a pitcher who has toyed with me and frustrated me more over the past few years. I’ve been done with him multiple times, and every time he does something to at least pique my interest again.

Paul Sporer: Matt Moore has toyed with me equally as much as Eovaldi. I fall for them every time.

Seanto: is jose de leon the stud that some say he is?

Paul Sporer: I mean, maybe. LOL. He’s certainly got some big potential, but he’s not Urias, Alex Reyes, or Giolito level

whitey: You think the Tigers have a legitimate shot at winning it all this year?

Paul Sporer: If they get in, sure. Getting in is the tough part. Just rust for JZ today or still hurt? If it’s the latter, there’s trouble. One of Anibal Sanchez, Shane Greene, or Daniel Norris is going to have to step up and be a big piece of the rotation. Anibal has the best shot of course bc he’s actually IN the rotation right now

Toki: Got offered Tillman, Manaea, and Sano for Dahl and Margot in a 10 person OPS, H2H, dynasty league. Which side do you like?

Paul Sporer: I can take what you were offered if you’re pushing for this year, otherwise just hold. I think Dahl is gonna dominate in Coors

Paul Sporer: He’s looked fantastic. Like the hyped prospect we loved a couple years ago. Has come a long way since an uninspired AFL look

Drewser: Carlos Rodon still a potential top-of-the-rotation guy, or has that ship sailed? Who’s the odd man out between him, Paxton, and Ray ROS?

Paul Sporer: Ship definitely hasn’t sailed. We’re still very early in the 23-year old’s career and he’s been about average (96 OPS+) w/a K-per-IP. Still huge potential for me

Andrew: Keep forever league- Someone is looking to trade for Harper and pay full value. Do you think it is a good idea to move him?

Pete: What is your long-term outlook on Dahl for fantasy purposes? I think he can be a .270/25HR/15-20 SB OF’er with tons of runs and a decent RBI total IF he can stay healthy and walk some.

Paul Sporer: I just never understood this kind of overreaction to him. And you’re not alone. He was very clearly injured during his down period (core surgery in ’14, triceps in early ’15). He’s been a beast since getting healthy again

G Money: Does Bregman need a demotion for a couple of weeks to get right? Bo Sox didn’t it for Mookie in ’14 and he’s been a top guy ever since he came back.

Paul Sporer: I don’t necessarily see the link w/Betts. They’d know best what’s up with him and if it’s getting to him mentally or not. For now, I’d think they should ride it out for another 35-40 PA

Harry Carey’s Ghost: Is this just a bad year for Justin Upton, or do you think this is a new normal for him going forward? I had him as a keeper coming into this season and I’m already talking myself into not making that mistake again for next year.

Paul Sporer: Right now, it boils down to 2 bad months

Travis: Injuries, declining velocity, entering mid 30s, huge workload… that’s a lot of downward pointing arrows. Didn’t think he’d be out of baseball, but I thought it was more likely he was the next Halladay than a bounceback to the top of the AL.

Paul Sporer: 3 of those things can also just be called “time”. Injuries were the only real concern, but I wasn’t ready to write him off until seeing him healthy again

Paul Sporer: And Jeff Zimmerman has shown that workload isn’t a carrying factor in decline

Von Schloss: Power Pros was an old Wii and PS2 port of a Japanese baseball title. Only made it in 07 & 08. The characters were very cartoony but the game was a lot of fun and kept a lot of stats. I still have an old Wii just to play it.

Paul Sporer: I’m always about the now, so I’d be open to moving him for some game-changers that help me lock in that title (as much as you can lock it in w/2 months left)
