Love this analysis and weekly chart.
1) David Peterson moving back to the bullpen – has this been confirmed? would love his 2x starts this week…
2) Should I drop Kumar Rocker to stream Mike Burrows this week? (1start vs 2)
1) Despite his ugly ERA, Peterson had actually been decent for FGPts (4.25 P/IP). At least Manaea gets an easy slate to rejoin the rotation
2) I don’t trust Burrows one bit right now. Even against a two-start week, I’d stick with Rocker.
Much appreciated. Is there research suggesting that last 14 days’ wOBA is predictive or is that an intuitive hunch? I also interpret the color-coding as park and opponent offense rating that does not factor in your pitcher’s handedness, right? I’m wanting to start Cavalli against Arizona and while their big hitters are switch-hitters they hit much more poorly against RHP.
It’s mostly intuition — I wanted something to reflect recent performance to ensure you’re avoiding the hottest teams or taking advantage of the coldest teams. That recent performance only holds about a quarter of the weight in the final matchup score.
The color coding reflects the matchup score — easy matchups are green and more difficult matchups are red.
I do want to try and incorporate handedness into the equation somehow, but I haven’t figured out a good way to do that yet.
FWIW, I’ve got Cavalli on one of my teams and I’m planning on starting him at Arizona despite how well they’ve been hitting recently.
Thanks. Mine is a weekly and Cavalli was a little unfocused, at moments masterful, vs Miami tonight, then punished by the bullpen.
