FAAB & Waiver Wire Report (Week 3)

In the article, I cover the players using CBS’s (about 40% or less initial roster rate) and Yahoo’s ADD/DROP rates. Both hosting sites have the option for daily and weekly waiver wire adds. CBS uses a weekly change while Yahoo looks at the last 24 hours. Yahoo is a great snapshot of right now while CBS ensures hot targets from early in the week aren’t missed. The players are ordered for redraft leagues by my rest-of-season preference grouped by starters, relievers, and hitters. Read the rest of this entry »

Big Kid Adds (Week 2)

Syndication: Arizona Republic

While the NFBC Main Event garners most of the attention, there are a handful of leagues with even a larger entry fee ($2.5K to $15K). They got originally named “High Stakes Leagues” and this year there are nine of them. With so much money on the line, these fantasy managers are going to try to gain any advantage. Most of the time, these managers will be a week or two ahead of everyone else on their adds. Here are the players and some information on the ones added in four or more of these leagues. Brian: Ward or Siri as a replacement for Robert?

7:32
Jeff Zimmerman: Both? Neither should be available. I’d go with Ward first.

7:32
The Batman: With Nootbaar coming off the IL soon and interesting options on FAAB like Marsh and Joe, would you cut Outman already in a 12 team 5×5? He’s been awful and now isn’t a constant in the lineup.

John: Alexis Diaz has been shaky (at best) since midway through last season. If we’re speculating for Reds’ saves, is it Cruz, Pagan, or Sims?

Waiver Wire & FAAB Report (Preseason)

While a couple of rookie hitters (Scott and Rafaela) might have been unexpected a month ago, most of the changes are with pitchers, especially relievers. Also, I have three drafts and an auction this weekend, so this is most likely the final report for the weekend. On Sunday morning I might add a few names.

Nick: Do you throw Rodon @KC? I’m close in wins, ERA, and WHIP but it seems like a big gamble with Rodon down in velo today despite okay results.

7:36
Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on the other options. I understand your hesitation.
