MASH Report (3/26/15)

Chris Sale expects to start on April 12th.

Nick Franklin will at least miss a couple of weeks to start the season. It may not be until late May when he returns.

Nick Franklin (left-oblique strain) is “in that gray area,” according to Cash when asked if the infielder could be back by four to six weeks or six to eight

• One injury to monitor is Jacoby Ellsbury’s strained oblique. The team doesn’t seem worried, but he has yet to play since injuring it. It would be nice to see him in games this weekend.

Matt Cain’s elbow still feel sore at times. His velocity seems fine (90-92 mph) after averaging 91.6 mph last season.

• A nice bounce back pick I have is the Cardinals Jaime Garcia. He has made through spring training with no issues and should make the Cards rotation. He is number four on the latest Arsenal Score and can be got for pennies on the dollars. He is owned in 4% of Yahoo! Leagues and 0.4% of ESPN leagues. It’s time to start an auction for him in my Ottoneu league.

Joe Kelly may start the season on the DL with a bicep injury.

Good to see Kipnis back in the line up today. Hopefully he can put the back issues behind him.

Do you like Betts enough to take 60th overall instead of Kipnis/Dozier/Wong/Pedroia 80th overall? If I took Betts, I would end up with Wood/DeGrom as my second pitcher, If I waited for Kipnis/Dozier/Wong/Pedroia, I would take Cole/Arrieta instead.

Thanks Jeff!

I would very much prefer Betts and either Wood or DeGrom to any combination on the other side of the equation. Just my $.02.
