Week 13 FAAB Projections

For most people, today is Father’s Day. For those who have an NFBC league, it’s Yordan Alvarez Day. The bids for him this week will be off the charts. It’s not just him who’s available and with many owners spending time with their families, there should be deals everywhere.

The projection guidelines:

  • The ownership rates are from CBS since they have some quickdraw waiver wire leagues where players can be picked up at any time.
  • The FAAB estimates are based on the 2018 15-team mixed NFBC leagues which used a $1000 FAAB budget. Owners are going to need to convert these values to their own league.
  • The ownership values were taken from Saturday and lots can happen in between when they publish and FAAB bids run.
  • Only players owned in 50% or fewer of CBS leagues are examined.

Howie Kendrick 2B | WAS 49% 62% 13% $74
  • Yes, I know Yordan Alvarez has two bids totals. It’s based on his ownership jumping from 1% from two weeks ago to the 92% level. The jump last week was from 34%. Either way, owners are looking at spending anywhere from 35% to 70% of their original FAAB budget. It’s pretty much going to be like Only leagues at the trade deadline … those with the most money win.
  • Owners are making the move to add different/better catchers with Roberto Perez and his 11 homers leading the charge.
  • David Bote is getting some love after starting seven of the last ten games and hitting .323/.382/.613 over that time frame.

  • While I don’t find the hitters interesting at all, the pitchers are a whole different story.
  • If available, Adrian Sampson projects to have the top billing. He’s put together a nice run of starts but I consider him to just a be a streaming option.
  • With Seattle starting the trading season, backup closers could start being picked up as owners hope to get them on the cheap. Here is how I’d rank the ones listed above:
  1. Hansel Robles
  2. Taylor Rogers
  3. A.J. Minter
  4. Joe Biagini
  5. Ian Kennedy
  6. Brandon Workman
  • Brendan McKay and Dylan Cease are a couple of rookies are on the list and are perfect stashes.

Robles is a backup closer?

nice writeup, regardless. I didn’t save enough for the Yordan wars unfortunately in basically any league. A couple leagues Kelly is available who is my #1 pitching add with matchups. I’d venture Kelly vs Colorado and SF is better than Sampson. Thoughts on Ian Desmond? He isn’t available in all but one league of mine, but significant changes, and I think he is something like top 5 in quality of contact over last month in MLB.
