League wants to give DH for NL for more revenue from the playoffs. The union wants the DH because it clearly something they have been fighting for, but doesn’t want to just give away playoff revenue without getting its own piece. So the Union wants its fingers in more playoff money while also getting the DH spot.
Until the League decides they need that revenue and agree on some form of sharing with the union, there will be a standoff. So I just don’t think it makes any sense to assume it happens until there is an issue that forces the sides to meet.
