Kyle Lewis is not bad at defense.
I didn’t say that, did I? I think it was Justin, but I should’ve corrected him because I’ve actually been arguing that MLB The Show needs to raise his defensive ratings
yeah, it was Justin. I mean I think his reputation got set while he was still looking hesitant in the minors after the knee injury but he’s looked good out there this year and at least by Statcast Outs Above Average he’s actually graded out well in MLB so far. Admittedly small sample size but he’s approaching 150 plays and has gotten to more balls than expected in CF in both 2019 and 2020 and already robbed a couple of HR’s this year on some really nice plays. I think he’s a well above average corner at least, and passable in center. So I just don’t see slotting him in at DH as the most certain outcome, though it could happen. You don’t see CF to DH all that often. Also lost in the OF discussion was Mitch Haniger…
