Paul, that was a quick turn on Tucker! Yes, he’s going to a worse park, but 2024 was extra weird at Wrigley. Meanwhile Tucker showed a new level, walking more than he struck out, barrel% up near 13%, on a 45 HR pace. Just turned 28. Probably runs more in a contract year?
Want to note that J Rod had a really bad ankle injury, on the EW team preview the beat said it was a high ankle. New hitting coaches, he’s 24. It’s just odd he was a consensus top 5 pick; was the market so wrong a year ago?
It def was a fast flip, but I didn’t realize how trash Wrigley was for him and that pairs with deep first rd. giving me other options to turn to instead of Tuck. I’ve always loved Tuck, but that spooked me for sure.
With J Rod, I did point out to the guys that we’re not far removed from his 30/30/100/100 season. It’s more that supporting lineup and park giving me pause w/J Rod. I haven’t been on him all draft season. Tuck was a flip, J Rod was just reinforcement of concerns
