2. Casual Weather
NYY at ATL- 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms at game time, but it gets better the later it gets. Delay seems likely, but I think it will play. Risky for pitching.

PIT at CHW- 10% chance of rain at game time. Sounds like this should play.

LAD at SF- 10% chance of rain at game time. Sounds like this should play.

 

3. Favorite Stacks
Cardinals vs Matt Harvey– Dude, it’s Matt Harvey.

Oakland vs Kyle Gibson– Gibson has really struggled this season and the A’s are among the best teams in baseball.

Rangers vs Sean Manaea– This is a contrarian stack. The Rangers have the worst run differential in baseball and Manaea is coming off of his best two starts of the season, but those starts were against two atrociously bad offenses and Manaea has not looked right all season.

Tigers vs Tyler Chatwood– Chatwood is returning from the IL and can’t be expected to go deep even if he is good and that Cubs bullpen is targetable.

 

4. Favorite Hitting Plays
Catcher (Expensive): None. Not a day to pay up at catcher with so many good cheap options.
Catcher (Punt/Value): Cam Gallagher vs STL. This is a pure punt play. Gallagher is just $2,100 and Meibrys Viloria is only $2,200. Also consider Will Smith, Robinson Chirinos, Yadier Molina, Carson Kelly, and Tony Wolters.

1B (Expensive): Matt Olson vs TEX.
1B (Punt/Value): Evan White at SD. White hasn’t made a lot of contact, but he has four homers over his last seven games and is crushing it when he does make contact. Also consider Jeimer Candelario and Todd Frazier.

2B (Expensive): Wilmer Flores vs LAD.
2B (Punt/Value): Kolton Wong vs KC. Wong is on a seven game hitting streak and facing Matt Harvey. Also consider Rougned Odor and Jake Croenworth

3B (Expensive): Matt Chapman vs TEX
3B (Punt/Value): Isaac Parades vs CHC. Another pure punt play at only $2,000. Also consider Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Todd Fraizer.

SS (Expensive): Fernando Tatis Jr vs SEA.
SS (Punt/Value): Niko Goodrum vs CHC. Goodrum has been mostly batting leadoff, but even when he doesn’t he is hitting second or fifth. Definitely has risk, so better for tourneys, but he has upside and a good matchup. Also consider Erik Gonzalez, Jake Cronenworth, Isaiah Kiner-Falefa, Maurico Dubon,

OF (Expensive): Luis Robert, Mark Canha, Ramon Laureano, Joey Gallo., Christian Yelich, Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Whit Merrifield.
OF (Punt/Value): Robbie Grossman, Nick Solak, Jordan Luplow, Stephen Piscotty, Mauricio Dubon, Dylan Carlson, Victor Reyes, and Christin Stewart.
