Jeff Zimmerman: The first two (Carp and Mcc). I like Pratto also.

Max Del Rey: Do you believe in the Jose Abreu redemption tour? Or do you prefer waiver-type options such as Vargas, Pratto, or Noda?

Jeff Zimmerman: I wouldn’t for Vargas, Pratto is close, and for sure with Noda.

RAGBRAI: Thoughts on Coco Montes? Worth an add for ROS in NL only?

Jeff Zimmerman: I missed his callup and home run. Let me take a quick look.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s missing elite power but is above average in BB%, K%, GB%, and ISO. He’s interesting but I’m not sure of the playing time.

bmfc1: My confidence in Patrick Sandoval is fading. Should I give him another start (v KC)?

Jeff Zimmerman: I dropped him in all leagues a few weeks ago. Middle relievers provide more than him.

Cesar Geronimo: Is Nolan Jones for real?

Jeff Zimmerman: Looks that way and the Rockies are playing him

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe. I found I was upgrading several of my hurt guys for other hurt guys on the wire who are returning sooner (ex. Alex Wood and Trevor Rogers)

Chris: Why do the projection systems think Tanner Houck is a ~4 era  pitcher RoS when his xFIP this year and last year were around 3.6?

Jeff Zimmerman: Without looking into the exact details, projections breakdown when a pitcher is going between starting and relieving.

quadrangular: In a 5×5 OBP league, how much would I regret dropping Rowdy Tellez for Josh Naylor?

Jeff Zimmerman: No … Tellez might be streamable in 12-teamers. Also, Alonso managers will be looking for a replacement

Bill: Do you expect Maeda to replace Varland in MIN rotation?

Jeff Zimmerman: No but it could happen. I don’t think Maeda is a better pitcher than Varland

Jeff Zimmerman: One key is who has the hammer and how much does the second person have?

Jeff Zimmerman: If you go 330, you give yourself around four $1 bids per week for the rest of the season

Jordan: Thaiss or Wong ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d lean Wong

jamield: Where does Bryce Miller end up?  Surely better than his last two starts.

Jeff Zimmerman: Miller has an issue I’ve been trying to prove with no luck … pitchers can’t rely on their fastball over 50% of the time. Miller is 69%. Bryan Woo is at 81%

Jeff Zimmerman: Hitters know what is coming and can hit certain velo’s. Or the team can put guys in who can.

Johnny5Alive: In your ww report, so seem to see some risk in  Abbott, but he’s obviously the hot name this week. How much faab in an only league and is he an upgrade over Edward Cabrera or Jordan Montgomery?

Jeff Zimmerman: People will disagree with me, but I have him under middle relievers and would just put in a min bid to see if he can be productive. I’d hold Cabrera and Monty. There is a ton of hype with Abbot, but he’s not someone I’m going to spend any precious resources on.

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe but I think you could steam the last spot and get more than Lynn was providing

Jeff Zimmerman: I think more 3-4 but yes. I’m looking at him in some leagues where I need AVG help

Dan: Thoughts on Pham ROS. I could use a hot bat in a 14 teaser. Not sure if/when Pham’s playing time dries up. Thanks Jeff.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s a fine add but everyone needs to know he could be back in a time share … tomorrow. They team just needs to add a 2B and McNeil is in the OF. Add a 1B and Canha is in the OF

Greg: Does McGough end up with the closet role in Arizona

Jeff Zimmerman: No, I suspect the closer at season’s end is not on the team right now.

SNES: How concerned should I be about Kelenic’s struggles? Still a hold in 12+ leagues?

Jeff Zimmerman: He has major contact issues. He’s turning into a Baez-like profile

BKS: To add on to the Elly question. I have 537. There’s a 613 and an 810. I’m third highest available

Jeff Zimmerman: If I was the 810, I’d go 614 and be find for the rest of the season. Now, check to see if the 810 guys has been active

Dynasty Query: hello Jeff! In a 15-team dynasty h2h 5×5 league, who do you like more between Cowser and Westburg for a lifetime commitment? Thank you again.

Jeff Zimmerman: It depends if it is FAAB or Waiver Wire related. I ignore all the trade, thought on, and/or vague questions.

Cdlund: In AL only and the wire has been barren all year. Is there anyone coming up soon to look out for or should I hold until the trade deadline for the new names?

Jeff Zimmerman: I would hope for BAL to promote one of their guys. But if the trade deadline hits, be ready to pounce on any real talent

Guest: Are the Marlins ever gonna let B. Garrett go 6 innings so I can get some QS? Also, is his teammate E. Cabrera any more than a streamer?

Jeff Zimmerman: Garrett is a two-pitch guy so the Marlins will limit the times he sees a lineup.

Jeff Zimmerman: No unless you really need an upgrade at SS

LenFuego: Sandy Alcantara was dropped in last week’s FAAB run, either a rage-drop or perhaps an unethical backdoor transfer to the guy with the biggest FAAB budget.  Assuming the former, how much FAAB budget would you try on him?  Is it just like all of it?

Jeff Zimmerman: 20%. I didn’t value him at his draft cost, so I would go all in … but I bet someone does.

Seth: Can Elly win ROY without Carroll getting hurt?

Jeff Zimmerman: It might come down to which team makes the playoffs

Bruce & E Street: Gausman was very disappointing today.  Someone said maybe he was “tipping” he’s pitches . Just a one off start or more ? Thoughts?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s just one start … shit happens.

Tony: Hey Jeff – who are the setup/HL relievers you’re most invested in? Normally these guys aren’t on the waiver wire but occasionally they do pop up and they make great trade targets. Thanks!

Jeff Zimmerman: This season, I’ve been able to get guys who are in the mix for Saves to fill this role (e.g. AZ, NYY and CHC bullpens). I haven’t need to go any deeper than those

Tim: Is Alex Lange still the closer? Will Reynaldo become the closer?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes on Lange, no idea on Lopez

Guest: looks like Jack S. got his zone contact% into the low/mid 80s on the rolling graphs, still crushing the ball. was he never dropped in those 15T Tout Wars leagues?

Jeff Zimmerman: I know he wasn’t available in mine or I would have bid on him

Willie Calhoun, Grandal, Biggio, McKinney, Jake Rogers and Higashioka are all that’s available. I have $29 of 100 FAAB left. Would you bid anything for any of them?
