Jeff Zimmerman: It’s tough to tell at this point

Jeff Zimmerman: The teams that have clinch have the off days to set up their rotations so no breaks. I think it will more likely be the wild card teams who have clinched and want to make sure their aces go from the start

The Batman: In a SOLDS league, would you punt that category in favor of streamers if your opponent in the final has a clear advantage in that category? i.e. two more high quality relievers already.

Jeff Zimmerman: Sure. Also, I don’t know the size of your benches, but you can add bunch of closers looking like you might compete and he might even add in another reliever

KCbbq: Kerry Carpenter has performed pretty well for the Tigers and has been hitting in the 4-6 holes. Is he a starter in 2023? Got him for $1 in AL only.

Jeff Zimmerman: Now, that was someone I was wrong on. He starting playing and hitting and then the Tigers just sat him

KCbbq: Picked up Torkelson for $1 couple weeks ago in 12 team AL only. What’s your expectation for him for 2023?

Jeff Zimmerman: He has been all over the place. I’m going to have to deep dive into him.

Jeff Zimmerman: His strikeouts are down, but I’m not sure why. That’s why there is an offseason

Randy West: Would you start Ober or Roansy for 2 starts over a single start of Fried, Verlander, Cole, Rodon?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d go with the single starts

Jeff Zimmerman: Predicting SB is going to be a mess this season with all the new rules.

Randy West: Hey Jeff, entering second week of H2H points championship. Thanks for your help all year…. My pitching is strong but I’m really lacking in two starters this week.  Do you usually roll with your best pitchers regardless of matchup or do you consider matchups MORE this time of year. Example: Carrasco vs Mia or Cole @ Toronto?

Jeff Zimmerman: That’s why I use the Razzball projection. They give the expected stats for the start(s) and then value them.

Jeff Zimmerman: Right now Ober is valued at $16 and Cole at $14.

rush: in nfbc OC do you find that it’s more helpful to roster more bench hitters than usual the next two weeks to give you options since this is the last week for two-start streaming pitchers

Jeff Zimmerman: No, I’m adding pitchers for that last week. If I need Saves, I’m looking at the backups for the four teams with double-headers (Tigers, Yankees, Mariners, and Rangers)

Guest: Re: adding a bunch of relievers to look like you’re competing. I did that. Opponent adjusted and added relievers too. Swapped in a bunch of starters right before games locked and ended up winning it all.
