Bruce in 2023: Which call up are you most confident in the ros : Spencer Steer, Triston Casas, or if Jung gets the call ?

Jeff Zimmerman: Jung

Rickey!: Andres Munoz or the returning Presley this week? And who would you sit between Morel, Luis Urias, Voit, or Gorman (whos facing all righties)?

Jeff Zimmerman: Pressley and drop Urias. He might only start one or two games on the short side a platoon.

Jeff Zimmerman: You can drop Urias as this point.

KCbbq: Playoffs start. Have $1 of 100 FAAB left in 12 team AL only H2H. Have Arroyo and a non-productive Donaldson on active roster. Do I spend last $1 on Isbel (for SBs), Yainer Diaz, Aranda, Bethancourt, Eaton (SBs)? The latter 4 are pt question marks. Could also throw $1 at Royce Lewis or Hunter Brown. Or…..do nothing?

Jeff Zimmerman: If you can fill a roster, sit and save the $1 to fill a void.

Jeff Zimmerman: If I had to pick one, it would be Brown but only if I had to start him

H2H Points: With weekly lineups (10 teams), guys like India and Eloy who are hitting well but huge in-week injury risks are giving me fits.  Better to go with the consistency of the Seguras and Haniger/Reynolds of the world, or roll the dice?

Jeff Zimmerman: I might go with the consistent play. Sounds like India will be back.

Jack: At this point I’m pretty sure Josh Jung isn’t coming up until next May so the Rangers have another year of control over him.

Jeff Zimmerman: Agree.

Jeff Zimmerman: Hernandez …. Crowe …. who cares, possibly Barnes. I’d prefer one of the TB guys or Hand over the guys you listed.

Kyle: Playoffs looming in my league; would you hold on to Stanton and hope he wakes up or pivot elsewhere? Eloy, Verdugo, Bohm and McCutcheon available

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold Stanton but of those listed, Verdugo is the best option.

Bruce in 2023: Time to drop Brandon Rodgers for Luis Garcia (Nats) ? Yes, Rodgers gets 6 at Coors this week. But after that only 7 at home .

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold for the seven and then drop. It’s likely the last week to roster Rockies

Oddball Herrera: Going into next year are you valuing Andres Gimenez as (a) someone who just had what will have been the best year of his career (b) 2021 was about true talent level or (c) he is nominally over a season’s ABs so there may even be another gear in there

Jeff Zimmerman: No, not with only three righties on the schedule. He probably should be on the wire this week.

Sesses: Steer $100 Sheets $66 – would you not rather have Sheets in most league contexts?  i know what Sheets can do & Steer is a lottery ticket

Jeff Zimmerman: Sheets is still in the platoon and only faces 4 righties this week. It’s tough to add someone to sit on the bench

Jeff Zimmerman: Nothing out there in my leagues. Falter vs Miami is the best available option

Bruce in 2023: Your comment on Sheets is why I’m looking at Lane Thomas; plays daily. Even over Kwan & Corey Dickerson., as RBIs/Hr is needed.

Wayne Garrett: I know Gunnar is the hot girl at the dance, but is he a better choice for MI help this week than McMahon (home all week) or Wong (3 games in CO)?

Guest: What is wrong with Sean Manaea, and is it fixable for next season?

Jeff Zimmerman: Over-reliance on the sinker with a subpar defense behind him.

2 start pitchers: I don’t usually even believe it unless the start is Monday. So many pushbacks after lineups lock.

Jeff Zimmerman: We looked at the season’s results and a Saturday start happens 60% of the time and I think Sunday is 40%

Mike: How do you prioritize 5×5 leagues where both Ks and ratios are very close? Would you roll with a 2-start option like Archer who hasn’t been pitching particularly well over a 1-start option like Jose Suarez with a good matchup?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d probably go with Suarez. I know where you are coming from. There are just no 2-start options on the wire.

Guest 2: Similar question, what is wrong with Giolito and is he droppable in a redraft league?

2 start pitchers: Really? I’m making the Home Alone/The Scream face right now. Ye gods. I have to bump Quintana and Steele down my list.

Three Bee: Drop Bohm for Chapman? Diaz?  Points head to head with a mild 0.5 K penalty (CBS style).  Bohm has cooled off, and I never really believed in him all that much, but he still hits 3rd between Hoskins and Harper every day.

Contreras the Elder: Do I have to drop this dude in my weekly H2H leagues? (Please tell me no.) Why can’t they just tell us if people are gonna play? I am gonna end up dropping my worst SP (McCullers/Destroyer of WHIPs) for a backup C because dropping Contreras Sr. feels insane and likely to help my opponents. But I need a catcher who plays and time is short. Please advise!

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m dealing with the same issue. I’d drop the starter. With teams being eliminated, hopefully there more WW options

Jeff Zimmerman: If only I wrote a waiver wire article list such players.

Common Sense: I think the fantasy baseball industry should make a transaction cap part of the standard league setting.  Put an end to streaming, does anyone really like that aspect of fantasy?  This would put a bigger emphasis on drafting good pitchers that pitch lots of IP, which also “feels” like a better reflection of real baseball to me.  Am I wrong?

Jeff Zimmerman: I like the $100 FAAB, no zero’s. You’ve got 100 moves max and if you want to spend more than $1 on a player, few moves.
