JSayer: Any interest in Maximo Castillo? Deep leagues for sure but looked decent in relief, fanning 7 in 4 innings of relief and might get a start this week

Jeff Zimmerman: Not yet but it wouldn’t take much in the current starting pitcher landscape

WD40: Good Evening Jeff.  Need to pick up a SP in an NL 4×4.  Would you please rank ROS:  J. Alexander, P. Espino, A. Pallante, & D. Peterson.  Much obliged!

Jeff Zimmerman: I haven’t even dug this deep. Peterson is the easy #1. Probably Alexander, Espino, and finally Pallante.

AB: any general thoughts on Josh smith? 10 team AL only, waivers pretty dry, 3b/ss eligible. Duran sent down, leading off, lotta talent, seems more than worth a flyer?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’ll be added in all formats where Duran was rostered.

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s add him this week in those leagues or miss out.

Vader: will jj abrams get enuf at bats to be worthwhile ros in h2h?

Jeff Zimmerman: I doubt it or be able to hit the ball with authority.

Royals: Hi Jeff. Seems like your high on Olivares. Him or Dozier (obp league)? I’m worried Olivares might be in a platoon, though I like the skills.

Jeff Zimmerman: Oliveras easy over Dozier. 20/20 don’t show up on the wire every week.

Percy Miracles: Hi Jeff, in a 14 team OBP and Total bases dynasty league where I’m in 5th who would you drop to bring Wander off the IL, all $ similar and position doesn’t matter: Carlson, Olivares, McCutchen, Naylor, Flores, Espinal, Y Gurriel, Morel?

Jeff Zimmerman: Naylor (might be in a platoon), Gurriel (struggling), Flores (might not play all the time in SF)

Kyle: Noah Syndergaard, Paul Blackburn, Mitch White, Jon Heasley ROS for some one last in strikeouts. You the man Jeff. You’re bit on White today has me excited.

Jeff Zimmerman: This is ROS, not next few starts.   Thor, Blackburn, Heasley, White. I could see White bounce around from the bullpen to starting

KNOTinBBCRL: Is Matt Vierling now a decent OF play with Harper having a serious ouchie?

Jeff Zimmerman: He and Herrera should now have full-time at-bats which makes them viable in some deeper formats.

D Mountain: Rich Hill is getting wins and looking ugly doing it. Trust him @CHC or pick a waiver guy (Heasely, Kremer) or rp? Thanks!

Jeff Zimmerman: Stick with Hill compared to those options.

The Alou Named Matty: more useful in OBP league with 16 MLB teams to draw from, ROS: Josh Smith, Lenyn Sosa, Gerardo Perdomo? Any of them likely to have a starting job next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d go with Smith. He might not be at 3B. He was being used in the outfield in AAA

T-Mac: How deep a league should I be in to start Tristan MacKenzie v Twins? I like his arm, but they hit a bunch on homers off him last week.

Jeff Zimmerman: 10 teamer. It comes down to the other options.

Saves Hunter: Is it worth hunting down saves with Hunter Strickland or is he just another Cincy BP Flavor-of-the-Week?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d stay away.

Jeff Zimmerman: For those after saves. John Schreiber (BOS) will get some run as closer with Houck not going to Toronto. Also, Trevino looks to be the closer in Oakland. It’s it for closers.

Bruce in 2023: Going to attempt to add Edward Olivares off of waivers & drop a P.  But,with O’Neill coming back this week I would need to drop a bat : S.Espinal, J.Turner, Luis Garcia, H.Bader, ? Deep mixed roto

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably Espinal

Greg: Does moving to lead off make Josh Smith viable in a 12 team mixed roto league? Would you take him or Alek Thomas

Jeff Zimmerman: Thomas for sure over Smith.

Jeff Zimmerman: One sec on Smith in 12 teams.

Jeff Zimmerman: In the NFBC 12 team leagues (OC), Duran was 86% rostered before getting demoted. I expect Smith will end up with a similar roster%

Vader: scale of 1-10, how would you prioritize grabbing Bello in h2h league, keep for next year

Jeff Zimmerman: 1

Roster construction: At one point is the roster spot more important than the value? (Ie, taking a middle infielder I like less just to clear room)? (Sorry for the half question)

Jeff Zimmerman: This is tough and is set by your gut, but the key for me is to never (99% of the time) take a zero. Not getting stats is a killer

Andrew Triggskaedekaphobia: Thanks as always for your work. How would you rank Naylor, Kiriloff, Olivares, and Paredes in a 12 teamer?

Jeff Zimmerman: Oliveras, Paredes, Kiriloff, Naylor (possibly in a platoon)

Brooks Baseball: Brooks Raley getting the save today, no sign of Pochen in tb. Worth chasing in al only or not worth the headache?

Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t chase for the Save. If you add him, just start every week and by the season’s end he’ll have 6 to 8 Saves and 6 to 8 Wins. That’ll play

Dave in slc: In an AL only had a couple of pitchers hit the IL. Best options to replace are relievers Jax, Bautista. Starters kremer, smeltzer and bubic. Which 2 would you pick? Or how do you rank these?

Jeff Zimmerman: Bubic and Bautista (Lopez trade) then Jax ………………Smeltzer, Kremer

Kyle: Any thoughts on moving Giolito for Lauer, Gore or Wainwright?

Jeff Zimmerman: Hell no

Dave in slc: What % would you go for Cruz in an nl only where you can’t get players until they are active?

Jeff Zimmerman: 80%

Bruce in 2023: who would you prioritize: Edward Olivares or Jarren Duran? Mixed deep daily roto

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, but very close. One issue is that Duran probably can’t make the trip to Toronto

Guest: Need an OF sub…12 teamer….dynasty….Olivares, Kepler, Rosario may be top options…bonus would be SB/triples…both are categories….

Jeff Zimmerman: Olivares for me

Maris: Thoughts on what Texas will do with Steven Duggar? Picked him up as a Giant earlier and held on. Can he help?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s probably just a bench bat

Jeff Zimmerman: That’s close. Go with Smith since 3B is a wasteland

Vader: Jj abrams or n Gordon ros h2h?

Jeff Zimmerman: I might go with Abrams on the upside (also more downside). One note on Gordon, he’s at 9 games at SS so he might get that eligibility in some formats.

Jesse: Part with 1 OF, R. Greene, M. Harris, Verdugo? OBP and H2H category league.

Jeff Zimmerman: Drop Verdugo

Mike: Where would Brady Singer rank amongst starting pitchers in your waiver column today?  Are you still bought in on him?

Jeff Zimmerman: Likely #1. I’m really high on him. He’s just better than the other options.

Sweet Lou: Lou Trivino ahead of Brooks Raley for saves? Worse team/talent vs. Kevin Cash?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d go with Trivino but I don’t feel good about either one

GuyYAYgoes: Gallegos with virtually no save opps lately.  Could the Cards go back to a committee or is it strictly Helsley’s job?  I could dump Gallegos for a bleh closer type like Trevino or Strickland, but I’m as worried about the Cards messing with me as I am about the latter’s blow up hurting my ratios. What say you?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d stick with Gallegos but the situation sure stinks

Old Arms: Ken Giles got into a close game today. LeClerc had 2 k’s in his clean inning. Are these watches or adds for saves in small bench al only?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not for me, I’d prefer Swanson or Morgan

NFBC22: About to drop Yepez in NFBC 12s…mistake?

Jeff Zimmerman: No, not at all. Right now he’s barely a streamer in 12-teamers.

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s the one format I know best, I have 10 NFBC 12-teamers

Guest: Brady Singer’s numbers seem pretty good. Low walk rate, 50% GB rate before today. Is he a good sleeper ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yep. He should have been rostered for weeks

From State farm: Jacob Meyers worth a pickup in 12s or 15s?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m pretty sure he’ll be added in all leagues with a pulse. He might have sneaked by, but with McCormick getting demoted and Brantly hurt, Meyers might end up being expensive

Jason: Max Muncy or Nick Senzel ROS in 6×6 roto with OPS?

Slapshot: 5×5 roto, 10 teams.  Would you bench any of Grichuk/McCutchen/Laureano for Kirilloff?  My team’s 2nd in batting points but the back end of my OF is pretty weak.

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably not, but you should see what is their weekly projection and start the best two

KCbbq: 12 team AL only 5×5 H2H keeper. Picked up Riley Greene for $26. Been offered Pivetta $1 or Gilbert $9. Not much on waiver wire to replace Greene (Sheets, Marwin Gonzalez, Arroyo). My SPs are Gausman, Ray, Sandoval and Blackburn. Make the trade and for which one?

Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t think about going that low for Greene in a keeper format. You need to get back a top 3 round talent for him

Frank Thomas the Tank Engine: Does Jarren Duran stick around and play over Bradley once Hernandez comes back?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know how this will work out. I bet it’s a mess for about a week

AT in the 613: We paid up last week $333 for Riley Greene in our 15-team NFBC league and have entered dollar days. Did we blow it?

Jeff Zimmerman: As long as you can make 4-5 moves per week, you’ll be fine

Jeff Zimmerman: Stripling on talent. Now White and Sandoval might be facing weaker opponents

Jeff Zimmerman: In a 12, I’d drop Suzuki for Rainey. Otherwise, hold

Do the Dubon: With Brantley maybe hurt and Siri/ChasM demoted, might Dubon get enough pt to be relevant in al only?

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe, I’m not sure about him.

Jeff W: NL only 5×5 roto.  What should I do with Villar?  Does it make sense to hang on to him and see if anyone picks him up?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold for the week to see if he comes back to the NL. Most only’s are too shallow to lose him

Todd Gak: Who do you like more short term as the CHW deal with their injuries: Lenyn Sosa or Gavin Sheets?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes there is a concern, but when does a 20/20 just show up on the wire. Add and then figure out the playing time.

NFBC22: Josh Lowe worth a $40ish bid in NFBC 12s? Seems like the upside is big even if the K% is scary. He’s going to play with those injuries it appears.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s a don’t roster for me. The 40% K% makes him unrosterable
