Bob: Someone surprisingly waived Jose Altuve. Is he a must claim with a bad hamstring when Cronenworth is available?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, Altuve would be a must add

Dan: Drop Kurtz for C. Santana or Gavin Sheets? I’m using Kurtz as a bench piece. So far, no pop! (10 team, H2H)

Jeff Zimmerman: Kurtz isn’t good enough to hold in a 10-teamer. Stream those bats

Elko: Worth any more than a min bid guy in super-deep AL only? If so – how much you spending out of $100? Thanks as always, Jeff!

Jeff Zimmerman: In the Tout Wars AL only league, he went for $67 out of $1000.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure he’s a difference maker.

Guest: JJ Bleday underlying stats look good and his expected stats are horrible.I don’t understand that.

Jeff Zimmerman: Expected stats don’t mean anything. They aren’t predictive.

Jeff Zimmerman: I have Bleday graded out as about 10% better than league average

Guest: Is JJ Bleday a hold on 12s?

Jeff Zimmerman: All depends on the replacements.

Tim Elko: What % would you bid in a deep AL Only?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not as much as it’ll take to win.

The Batman: Cronenworth is available in my OC, 12 tm 5×5. 1B/2B depth + power is my weakness. What kind of percentage would you go?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m thinking 2% to 3%. He’s been a WW streamer in 12’s int he past

Jeff Zimmerman: I think Horton heads down

Jeff Zimmerman: No, but I could be wrong.

G Money: I just picked up Evan Carter in a 16 team points league. Is he a good stash to see if he can recapture his 2023 stats? Could drop him for his teammate Jung, but just don’t like the K’s. Thx for the insight!

Jeff Zimmerman: Carter is worth a stab but he be worthless in a week or two.

Todd Gak: Any interest in Addison Barger in an AL only 5×5?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, he’s playing for now.

Cheese: is Bryce Miller (gulp!) a drop candidate?  Ks no one, seems to allow at least 4 runs per start, and struggles to get 6 innings.  Does anything under the hood look good?

Jeff Zimmerman: I didn’t have any Miller and didn’t notice how bad he’s been. I grade him exactly the same as Andrew Heaney

Jeff Zimmerman: The walks are the killer. His 1.47 WHIP is doing as much ratio damage as a 5.34 ERA.

Joe: Can I roll with Hunter Goodman, PCA and Trent Grisham for my of ROS in 12 team h2h categories and keeper league? Thanks

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe just PCA. I could see the ups and downs of the other cause you to move on.

Bryce Miller: Is he worth any FAAB investment at all?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably not but the waiver wire options are horrible.

Jeff Zimmerman: If adding, plan on benching.

Jeff Zimmerman: What Smith?

Tim: how are we feeling about Lucas Giolito after today? I could pick him up in a 14t dynasty, but would have to drop one of Shane Smith, Soriano, Megill to do so

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s rounding into a 4.00 ERA arm with low walks and strikeouts. There are worse pitchers out there.

KCBBq: 12 team AL only 5×5 H2H. $43 of 100 FAAB left. Need replacements for Gimenez, Nolan Jones and Vivas. CuboatBrendan Rogers, Moncada, Elko, Josh Rojas, LeMathieu worth bidding on? How much FAAB?

Jeff Zimmerman: They are, but it has to be min bids. I might go a bit more on Moncada.

Decent arms?: Jeff, really appreciate your work. 16 teams 5×5, deep rosters: Would you be willing to rank Ben Brown, Matthew Boyd, Nick Martinez, AJ Smith-Shawver, Landen Roupp, Brady Singer? Any you would definitely say are not worth rostering? Thanks.

Jeff Zimmerman: On rostering them, it bepends on the waiver options. As for a rank: Boyd ….. Brown and Smith-Shawver ….Roupp… Singer

Nick: Hey Jeff – First time caller, long time listener…..really appreciate all that you do!! Any hope of Paul Skenes’ strikeout upside from last year returning this season? I know it’s obviously early, but the pedestrian strikeout numbers are kind of making me regret using a 2nd round pick on the dude.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s missing as many bats (13% SwStr% each season). The issue this season is his .238 BABIP. Fewer guys on base means fewer strikeout chances.

Lance: Is sasaki a hold or cut in a 12 man

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s getting close to being a cut. The walks are the issue.

Gustavo: What do we actually do with Sandy Alcantara?

Jeff Zimmerman: Bench until he strings together 3 decent starts
