Dave in slc: In an nl only how much would you bid on herz? I’ve only got 42 of 100 left but do need pitching

Jeff Zimmerman: Bids have been muted so far but people are desperate for pitching. $1 to $3.

Jeff Zimmerman: On Herz, he was an option last week and almost no one added him. It was one great game against a team that struggles against LHP. He might have found the strike zone but who knows.

KCBBq: What’s your opinion of Soderstrom if I can get him for $1-2 FAAB as a keeper for next season in a 12 team AL only using OBP? He’s got legit pop and looks like Oak is converting him to 1B so the old saw of catchers maturing late may not apply to him.

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe $1. I’m not sure he any better than Ty France

P Points: Correct my ROS ranks: Taillon over Civale over Mikolas over Manaea.  FWIW CBS points values IP (3) & W (7) & QS (3) more than K (0.5).

Jeff Zimmerman: You’re probably right, but with those options, you should be streaming each week. Last week was nice for Mikolas and the upcoming week is good for Civale.

Guy #2: Hey Jeff, where would Carson Spiers rank this week on the FAB list? NL only 5×5 keeper. Debating ranking above Herz & Carlos Rodriguez

Jeff Zimmerman: I missed on him. At least even with Harris. Probably higher. Two advantages with him. If a manager is unsure, they have two starts to monitor. Also, if he does take over, it seems like his job. No one is on the IL who will return.

Jay: Like a lot of people looking at Mookie replacements. 2B, hot hitter on bad offense Nick Gonzales or blegh hitter on great offense Gleyber Torres?

Jeff Zimmerman: What single digit mixed league are you in with both options on the wire? Vargas might be the best option for most people.

Jeff Zimmerman: With those options, stream, stream, stream

Guest: Hi Jeff, thanks for doing this. Buxton is available in my league. Where would he fall on your list and does he interest you at all?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, and near the top. Just make sure you can take an AVG hit.

Guy #2: Would you start Bobby Miller at Coors this week? NL Only

Jeff Zimmerman: Most likely. If I’m protecting ratios, maybe an RP.

SS: Is Correa back or is this hot streak just a product of the weaker competition? He’s on the wire so Correa, Merrill or Winn?

Jeff Zimmerman: Are you in the same 6 team league with Eno’s kid? Again, if those are the WW options, go with the weekly matchups.

pgburant: Hi Jeff, thanks for chatting. Need saves – have about 600 FAAB left, what would you recommend on Stanek?

Jeff Zimmerman: 10% max. I’m not sold on the role and Stanek’s talent.

Jeff Zimmerman: One sec for some more info.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m way too high. Last week $14 would have won him in any league. $30 might do it with but in a 15-team league, it might take more

Guest: Are you cutting Yimi Garcia or waiting for news tomorrow?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t have to make the call. That said, he might not even have a job if he waits

Jeff Zimmerman: This a tough spot I might just pass on

Stan the MAN: Haven’t heard much on Esteury Ruiz, thought’s on his return timetable and SB impact this year?  I’m considering dropping for Jake McCarthy

Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t wait on a quad-AAAA talent. Just go with McCarthey for now.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d add Jones for a couple of weeks to see if he gets back to ’23 levels, especially with this week at home.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think he’s the guy to add

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes … one sec.

Jeff Zimmerman: I like Buehler more. The last starter (Miller) might have to take one for the team if the bullpen is shot.

Jeff Zimmerman: For a possible one week closer stream. 1%

Jeff Zimmerman: Three weeks until the trade deadline. With have quarter of the season until the trade deadline so I’m grinding there

RGM: Does horwitz bring any HR or sb hope for 1st base?

Jeff Zimmerman: It doesn’t seem like it

RGM: How would you rank Schmidt bradish ray and springs as an IL stash? Have you heard a time-line for bradish?

Jeff Zimmerman: All I heard was longer than last time he was out. I’m possibly cutting with some guys to gamble on this week.

arcM: Hi Jeff, I’m in 2nd place in a 12T H2H points league. There are some decent OFs on the wire (Buxton, Burelson, Chourio, Merrill), so I’m trying to move Teoscar for Cole Ragans. Should be worried about Ragan’s workload come the playoffs?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m sure the Royals won’t shut him down. That said, he might get a 1.5 weeks off around the ASG

Jeff Zimmerman: If the Royals on contending, Ragans will continue to start

Jeff Zimmerman: Neto vs Hamilton comes down to only needing steals or steals and home runs. I prefer the balanced player
