The chart includes their 2024 stats (this changed over from last year’s stats on April 22nd), their opponent’s wOBA rank versus the pitcher’s handedness from this year so far (this is changed as of April 11th) and over the last 30 days, my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues, and then a note about them. Obviously, there are league sizes beyond those three so it’s essentially a shallow, medium, deep. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but that just means it is a riskier stream as the league gets shallower.
These are general recommendations, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. This is for standard 5×5 roto leagues. The thresholds for H2H starts are generally lower, especially in points leagues so I thought there would be more value focusing on roto and then you can generally expand these recommendations a bit for points leagues.
deGrom climbing the ranks! He looked great last week, just needs to up his pitch count.
Berrios is great in fantasy, but I’m ignoring him on principle because he’s a mirage and annoys me. 8th lowest BABIP of all qualified starters and 6th lowest K/9 (9th lowest K%), 2nd highest strand rate, 6th highest HR/FB%, 2nd highest positive ERA/FIP gap. Even if you lower the IP threshold to 100, he’s still up there across the board. His entire profile is luck.
At least Ronel Blanco (one of the guys ahead/behind him in some of the above statistics) can whiff guys and generates tons of IFFB, one of the signs of an actual FIP-beater.

Roto league coming down the wire…have a starts max and everything is lined up except for one final start. QS is most important, have some ERA/WHIP wiggle room but can’t take a dud….who gets the ball:

Gotta go Pablo Lopez. Best fastball in MLB this season gives him a floor nobody else can get to, and the O’s have been slumping down the final stretch. Elite WHIP
Bassitt, Eovaldi have all been all over the place, and the IP aren’t always there. Cole Irving’s contact quality has been shite. Rays will pull Pepiot if he starts getting in trouble, so he has a lot of risk for a QS.
I’d say Brown #2 (inter-divison matchups are always iffy and Seattle’s been playing well, and his WHIP and K/BB aren’t as good as Pablo), Wacha #3 (his matchup is the easiest but Brown and Pablo are both better and he hasn’t gotten to 6 IP as consistently as the other two).
