Starting Pitcher Chart – June 12th

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Daily SP Chart archive

The chart includes their season performance, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness over the last 30 days, my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues, and then a note about them. Obviously, there are league sizes beyond those three so it’s essentially a shallow, medium, deep. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s basically a risky stream for those spots.

These are general recommendations, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. This is for standard 5×5 roto leagues. The thresholds for H2H starts are generally lower, especially in points leagues so I thought there would be more value focusing on roto.

Monday, June 12th Starter Notes
RK PITCHER TM OPP 10 12 15+ IP ERA WHIP K-BB wOBA RK NOTE
1 Zach Eflin TBR at OAK x x x 66.2 2.97 0.96 22% 30th A mere 9 BB in 11 starts, aiding his sub-1.00 WHIP and sparkling 2.97 ERA in 93.3 IP
2 Jesús Luzardo MIA at SEA x x x 73.2 3.79 1.25 22% 12th Bounced back from each of his 2 duds w/complete gems and the skills have been elite throughout, an easy Auto-Start for me right now
3 James Paxton BOS COL x x x 26 3.81 1.23 25% 30th Has just 1 bad start since returning and he gets a great matchup on Monday that should give him some leeway v. NYY on the weekend
4 Bryce Miller SEA MIA x x x 38.1 4.46 0.97 18% 8th 2 massive bombs undid most of the great ERA, but he still has a sub-1.00 WHIP and this is solid 2-step (MIA, CHW)
5 Logan Webb SFG at STL x x x 84.1 3.09 1.09 20% 3rd Survived Coors and his reward is a tough 2-step (at STL, at LAD), but he is a full start
6 Charlie Morton ATL at DET x x x 69.1 3.89 1.46 15% 28th Excellent 2-step (at DET, v. COL) to shave down his WHIP
7 Dane Dunning TEX LAA x 53.2 2.52 1.10 9% 11th I really like Dunning despite his modest skills, but I just can’t strongly recommend a LAA/TOR 2-step for a sub-10% K-BB… maaaaybe as a Hail Mary
8 Tyler Anderson LAA at TEX 57.2 5.62 1.60 4% 2nd I can’t trust him in easy matchups let alone a tough one like this
9 Matthew Liberatore STL SFG 15 6.00 1.60 4% 21st Want to see something before jumping in
10 Luke Weaver CIN at KCR 47.1 6.27 1.42 17% 27th Just hasn’t shown enough since those 16 Ks in his first 2 starts to make him a streamer candidate
11 Zack Greinke KCR CIN 66.2 4.59 1.13 15% 5th This Cincy offense is getting scary after adding Elly De La Cruz
12 Tommy Henry ARI PHI 45.1 4.37 1.30 4% 22nd His 2-step got pushed back after the postponement, but I don’t think there’s appeal in any format
13 Connor Seabold COL at BOS 47.2 5.10 1.41 9% 23rd No thanks
14 James Kaprielian OAK TBR 43.2 7.21 1.76 6% 15th 5 BB/1 K in his 6 IP/1 ER outing at PIT… that said I wouldn’t start him v. TBR & PHI even if his skills looked better
15 Dylan Covey PHI at ARI 12.2 7.11 1.74 17% 10th No thanks
16 Mason Englert DET ATL 36 5.00 1.50 8% 4th Slated for a primary role, but there’s no fantasy viability here

Regarding Henry (inadvertent movie reference) I read that PHI & CLE have been the worst teams against LHP. Would that upgrade any minor appeal? My alternatives are Ryne Nelson, Johann Oviedo, Yonny Chirinos or Zack Davies.
