Tiny board today with pretty easy decisions down the line!

  • PIT clipped Gav Williams for 3 in the 6th inning and spoiled what had been an excellent outing, but he still notched 11 Ks to ease the pain of 5 ER.
  • Seymour’s 4.44 ERA in the L30 days is softened by a 0.95 WHIP and 28% K-BB, plus he gets a great matchup.
  • I’m not brimming w/confidence on any of the 1-x’ers: McGreevy is a mid-4.00s true talent at best but just keeps dropping gems so I can’t see taking him out of the lineup despite knowing this has to come back Earth. Similar to early season Bryce Elder (1.97 ERA thru 11 starts; 7.65 since).
  • Bieber has just 5 starts the last of which was a gem (6 IP/0 ER) and the one before that was solid (4.7 IP/2 ER) so I might actually prefer him to McGreevy by a smidge. I’m leaving them in their current order, though.
  • Pfaadt has been legitimately awesome since his return with a 2.14 ERA/0.95 WHIP including a strong trip to LAD, but I’m soooo skeptical of this success. It’s all control driven with a 1% BB over that time and just a 16% K rate.

Recommendations for Roto 5×5 Leagues | FW: Follower

Intro

The chart includes their performance for 2026, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness, and recently added opponent’s K% (also v. SP handedness), my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues – essentially a shallow, medium, deep league setup – and then a note about some, most, or all depending on the day. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s a much riskier stream for those spots.

These are general recommendations for standard 5×5 roto leagues, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. I usually won’t have much to write about aces who are locked into our rotations. If you want to discuss someone further, please feel free to leave a comment. I usually do a few sweeps of the comments before game time in case there are time-sensitive questions.

Paul — Very much looking forward to tomorrow’s updated SP rankings. July 24 is not exactly mid-July (just bustin’ you), but the info takes a lot of work and it is effectively free — so thank you Paul!

It was originally gonna be the break, but I forgot I was watching my sister’s dalmatian that week and that was just not conducive to the hours I generally spend agonizing over rankings!

No wind issues and the only rain is ATL where it’s 7% to start and 30% by game’s end
