Shortstop ADP Market Report: 1/31/2026

As we hit the beginning of draft season, it is important to monitor where players are being drafted on a regular basis. Throughout draft season, I will be doing that work for you with regular updates on the Average Draft Position on NFBC up until Opening Day. You can read all the Market Reports here.

Top 100 Players Falling

Mookie Betts (-10.67) – Betts is continuing to drop after having an extremely disappointing season, hitting .258/.326/.406 with 20 home runs and eight stolen bases. Betts was extremely ill at the beginning of the season, causing him to miss the Tokyo Series, but he was able to play the rest of the season. However, a drastic weight loss like that could have longer term repercussions on him throughout the season. While he did seem to improve in the second half, it is hard to know whether this is the beginning of a decline or just symptoms of what he dealt with at the beginning of the season.

Top 200 Players Rising

Konnor Griffin (+14.36) – Griffin is continuing to rise this offseason because of reports that the Pirates will give him the opportunity to win the starting shortstop job in Spring Training. He is the top prospect in baseball, but he has yet to reach AAA and had just 21 games at AA. The raw tools are impressive as he posted a .333/.415/.527 triple slash with 21 home runs and 65 stolen bases in 563 plate appearances between three levels. However, he is just 19 years old and the Pirates are notoriously willing to hold guys down to preserve service time. That being said, if he does make the team, the upside and price will be immense.

Top 200 Players Falling

Jacob Wilson윌슨 (-13.53) – Wilson is continuing to drop after having a very up and down season. Prior to getting hurt Wilson seemed to be the front runner for AL Rookie of the Year. Then he missed a month before returning and being overshadowed by his teammate, Nick Kurtz. Wilson is one of the purest hitters in baseball, but he doesn’t have much power or speed to go with it. He did hit 13 home runs last year in just 523 plate appearances, but that seems like a best case scenario moving forward.

Others of Note

Aidan Miller (-22.99) – Miller is the top prospect for the Phillies and it seems like he is ready offensively. The problem for Miller is his defense is not good and there is no real spot on the roster for him in Philadelphia. There were some rumors earlier in the offseason that the Phillies could trade either Alec Bohm or Bryson Stott, but those have seemingly died down. He could be up at some point this year, but unless he makes strides at a new defensive position or there is an injury, it is hard to tell when that will be.

Ha-Seong Kim 김하성 (-33.45) – Kim is dropping after injuring his hand. He is expected to be out 4-5 months which will take him off of boards in most leagues. He will be an interesting pick up once he is getting close to returning, but drafting him is probably a mistake.

Mauricio Dubón (+25.61) – Dubon will be taking over for Kim until he is ready to return which is the cause for the rise. However, in spite of this added playing time, Dubon just isn’t super interesting outside of very deep leagues. At best, Dubon is probably a 10/10 guy if he can get over 500 plate appearances, but he is best served for a super utility role and it would not be surprising if the Braves brought someone else in to push him back there.

Justin thanks to you and FG team for the rankings and ADP reports, really helps as we prepare for our auctions and drafts. With so many leagues going to some form of 2xSaves + Holds or Saves + Holds/2, the majority of my leagues have moved, is it possible the Auction Calculator has could add a 2xSave+Holds n option?

Thanks again and good luck this season.
