You say that you love the new format of the HR derby, but you clearly had plenty of suggestions regarding the timer/bonus etc. I think it is safe to say that you like the head-to-head match ups, but the timer piece is a mess.
I think 10 outs and head-to-head match ups would be a better format. You don’t have to give a wholesale endorsement of the new format where it is not warranted. 10 outs is synonymous with HR derby.
I disagree that the timer piece is a mess. I think timer is a must. Honestly if they just ran it back like this next year, I’d be fine with it. But if I’m making tweaks, it’d be timing related. The outs are terrible. It encourages taking pitches and I hope they never do outs again. Timer was excellent and made the HRD so good on Monday.
