i know everyone is down on ziegler and burgos/reed is supposed to be the saves guy. But since Reed got demoted on the 15th, ziegler has pitched 5 innings allowing 2 hits, no runs and K’d 7 without a walk. I get small sample size, but as everyone points these stats are produced by human beings. So, i was wondering if there is a change of heart. i, while not a Ziegler, think he could stick all year.
also, would love to hear thoughts on santana and mejia coming off suspension and whether LoMo will rate Corner value for year.

Bingo. Paul waffles quite a bit and it is very frustrating to listen to. He did it twice in this podcast alone — once on Smiley, second on Lincecum.

Was wondering if there is a stat that records a pitchers ability to keep the leadoff hitter from getting on base? Is there any correlation b/t leadoff hitters getting on and quality starts/wins? Thanks!
Eno, have yor tried giving Sambucus to your kids to possibly prevent sickness? It has helped our 4yr old quite a bit.
Had no idea Roger had labrum surgery. Most interesting is it was in 1985. We likely all remember or at least know about how awesome his 86 was, especially that crazy start to the year. So PED’s were likely not a factor for the first part of that dominant career. Al Leiter also had it. Evidently Schilling did too. Had no idea. Interesting, it really seems like age is the biggest factor regarding a full recovery

Regular listener, but I’m done. I shut this one off after 25 minutes. Between Paul Sporer’s back-peddling on Lincecum and Smiley and Eno’s distaste for any starting pitcher that wasn’t drafted in the top 20, it was completely useless. Sorry to be harsh fellas, but, Paul, if you say you are encouraged by Smiley and Lincecum, hold your ground. Don’t let Sarris talk you into changing your mind. And, Eno, come on pal — Rubby, Smiley, Lincecum, we get that they are not superstars. We get that they are risks, but, sorry fella, we as fantasy owners are sifting through this sort of stuff on our wires (in most these guys aren’t even owned). It’s not at all helpful to tell us, “I’m not owning him in any league.” Good for you. For the rest of us that play in leagues outside a 10-team, these are the sort of guys we need to consider. Good lord!
Why can’t new information alter an opinion on someone? I don’t see why you’re so angry, tbh.
OK, I re-listened and I’m wondering where I changed my mind re: Lincecum? My article said there’s no real change and run away. I started the pod convo saying that and finished it saying the same. The only positive thing I’ve found so far was the high strike thing that I mentioned. That’s not nearly enough to sway me in that he’s at some new real level or anything, sorry if I suggested other. If anything, Eno backed my original assertion.
I am a fan of emerson and this line is appropriate, i think…..

So i understand that data changes opinions, but to me, and this is honest, and we all do it, I think where Paul doesnt have a strong opinion he is easily swayed by someone with conviction. my 2 cents.
