Brock holt or L Cain? Why
Cain. He just has more talent than Holt, who has been a nice story, but I could easily see that nice story running out of juice like it did for Chris Colabello and Solarte after both of them had nice starts to the year.

Do you guys plan on taking a look at Danny Santana in a future podcast. He is day-to-day right now with a bone bruise in his knee, but he has been a top 5 Fantasy SS over the last month. Obviously that wont last, much like Alexi Ramirez being the second best fantasy SS wasnt going to last. That said, do you guys think he can maintain standard league value going forward? The speed seems legit and yes the BABIP is going to come down soon, but for owners who gambled on guys like Everth Cabrera, Jed Lowrie and JJ Hardy could he be a suitable stop gap/replacement?
Would you guys add Despaigne in a 12 team mixed roto?
I would wait and see unless you are truly desperate. Like the home ballpark, but he seems like a guy who relies heavily on deception since his overall stuff isn’t that great. He also didn’t put up very good AAA numbers. Unless it’s a super deep league you are probably fine waiting another start or two and seeing what he does.
Marcus Stroman over Despaigne?
For Despaigne’s play-by-play pitch analysis against the Giants, I saw his sinker listed at 93 mph and he did not throw a single fastball. Is his 93 mph sinker actually his fastball or does he really not have a fastall and relies more on his sinker and cutter as his velocity pitches?

I would take Stroman as well. Not crazy about him, but at least the talent seems legit even if the home park is scary. I just need to see more out of Despaigne before buying in. Nothing in his AAA numbers stand out and it’s just too small a sample size. I mean, Yohan Pino dominated the White Sox last week and got lit by the Angels. A lot of guys come up and pitch well for a start or two and then they get exposed quickly. Despaigne just doesnt scream “add me” in anything but really, really deep leagues.
I see, and do you like Stroman or Duffy rest of the season, Mike?
Stroman. Despaigne is becoming an interesting case, however, and I’ll see if we can revisit.
RE: sinkers and cutters, both pitches are types of fastballs. This may explain it?
Brian, I like Duffy, I think it’s a toss-up, Stroman has a better farm track record but Duffy has a greater body of work from which to learn and appears to be coming into his own.
I listened to the talk about cut fastballs and sliders leading to arm injuries by percentage of pitches thrown. Is it truly percentage or number? For instance, if a pitcher was turned into a reliever and threw only the cut fastball, what would be the likelihood they became the greatest closer if all time without derailment due to a injury?
