Quick Hits

Kyle Bradish was placed on the IL with abdominal discomfort. This will end his season. The Orioles recalled Yaramil Hiraldo to take his spot on the roster. 

Owen Cassie was placed on the 10-Day IL with a back injury. This will likely end his season. Xavier Edwards was activated from the IL to take his spot on the roster.

Anthony Seigler was placed on the IL with a wrist injury. He would still be eligible for the postseason, but there is no update on the severity of the injury. Willson Contreras was activated from the IL to take his spot on the roster. 

Rafael Devers was placed on the 60-Day IL with a core injury. This will end his season. Scott Bandura was recalled to take his spot on the roster. 

Royce Lewis left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury. 

The Twins are calling it soreness, so consider him day-to-day for now.

 

Various News and Notes
Adael Amador went 1-for-4 with a home run in the loss to the Tigers

Amador has been hot since coming up, hitting three home runs in 39 plate appearances. The Rockies are giving him full run rest of the way and he could have value with 10 home games in a row coming up.

Jackson Jobe threw 6.1 innings versus the Rockies allowing just one run on three hits and a walk while striking out eight in the victory.

Jobe has been up and down since returning from surgery, but this was his best start of the season and he has been better with the control recently. His final two starts of the season are at Chicago against the White Sox before finishing at home versus the Pirates.

Josue De Paula went 2-for-3 with a home run in the loss to the Marlins on Sunday.

De Paula is a top 20 prospect that made his debut last week after crushing AA with 27 home runs and 31 stolen bases and a .303.401/.547 triple slash. The upside is immense but he never saw AAA so there may be some growing pains. It appears the Dodgers are giving him some run to see whether he can be useful in the playoffs, so he should be picked up in all formats where he is available.

Pitcher for Today: Quinn Mathews vs SF

Mathews is getting a Giants team he just faced and pitched well against. The Giants are terrible versus lefties and just lost their best hitter in Devers. 

Other Options: Brandon Young at NYM, Jonah Tong vs BAL, Landen Roupp at STL, David Peterson vs ATL.

Pitcher for Tomorrow: Griffin Jax vs ATH

The Athletics are terrible away from home and Jax was better in his last start. 

Other Options: Davis Martin at CLE, Drew Anderson 앤더슨 at TOR, Ryan Johnson vs SEA, Andre Pallante vs SF, Michael Soroka vs MIA.
