Roto Riteup: September 14, 2021 by Justin Mason September 14, 2021 I love charts like these: All of Max Scherzer's 3,000 strikeouts. 🤯 (MLB x @TMobile) pic.twitter.com/Ul2UwRhXOR — MLB (@MLB) September 13, 2021 On the Agenda: Quick Hits Various News and Notes Streaming Pitchers Quick Hits John Gant left his start in the first inning with an abdominal strain. He is expected to go on the IL. Chris Paddack was placed on the IL with elbow inflammation. This is disappointing news as it likely means his season is over. Hopefully this won’t be an issue coming into next season. Jake Odorizzi left his start on Monday in the second inning with a foot injury. He is expected to undergo further testing on Tuesday. Consider him day-to-day at this time, but manager Dusty Baker stated that he was having trouble putting any weight on the foot so it sounds like this could be an IL stint that would likely end his season. Various News and Notes According to manager Aaron Boone, Gio Urshela will become the regular shortstop moving forward. This move is more about Gleyber Torres moving to second base as Torres has struggled at shortstop defensively. This won’t have a ton of fantasy value for this season, but it means Urshela will gain shortstop eligibility next season and Torres might gain second base eligibility, which helps both of their values for 2022. Tommy La Stella went 1-for-3 with a leadoff home run in the victory over the Padres on Monday. If he continues to hit and lead off for the Giants that will have tremendous value down the stretch and he is widely available in most mixed league formats.
