Roto Riteup — presented by DraftKings: September 24, 2015

Let’s be honest — with the season winding down, there’s really not much to talk about here at the Roto Riteup. So, today we’re going to look mainly on recent trends and whatnot, focusing on hitters. Tomorrow with focus on the pitching side, so don’t get your panties in a bunch.

Sometimes late season trends can carry into the next season, and while it’s not a majority of the time, it’s still worth keeping watch over. You never know what kind of goodies you might find.

On today’s agenda:
1. Pitching changes
2. Fun with arbitrary endpoints
3. The Flapping Five

Pitching Changes
Jordan Zimmermann may have his start moved from Friday to Saturday after he took a ball to the shoulder last week. Zimmermann has thrown without issue since, but with the Nationals already clinching their division, there’s no reason to take a chance.

Samuel Deduno will start for the Astros on Saturday. Deduno made 41 starts with the Twins over the last three seasons, but he’s pitched solely out of the bullpen for Houston. Deduno is going to be facing the Mets, but he’s not a great streaming option.

Daniel Norris will start Thursday for the Blue Jays against the Mariners. Norris has pitched out of Toronto’s bullpen after being called up earlier this month, but he is a starter by trade. Marcus Stroman was supposed to start against the Mariners, but he’s being sent to the bullpen for the remainder of the season, presumably to keep his innings count down and give Norris a chance to show what he can do. The Mariners have trouble against left-handed pitching, so Norris is worth a shot in deeper leagues.
