Timmy’s second No-No
Tim Lincecum threw his second career no-hitter yesterday, striking out six and walking one against the San Diego Padres. Throwing a second no-no puts Lincecum in a club with Randy Johnson, Sandy Koufax, and Roy Halladay with multiple no-hitters and multiple Cy Young awards.

Lincecum’s nine scoreless lowered his ERA a full 48 points, leaving him at 4.42 on the year with a 3.91 FIP and 3.65 xFIP. Lincecum’s FIP and xFIP was better than his ERA in 2012 and 2013, as well, so don’t expect some magical regression in the second-half of the season.

Erasmo Ramirez down, Taijuan Walker on the way
The Mariners have demoted Erasmo once again, but this time it paves the way not for Blake Beaven, but for top prospect Taijuan Walker, who is ready to go after all his shoulder rehab. The Mariners haven’t announced it yet, but expect Walker to be up on Monday to face off against the Houston Astros. Walker was pain-free in his last start in Tacoma, tossing nine scoreless with just one walk and eight strikeouts. Walker is a must have in all keeper formats now.

Joc Pederson’s shoulder injury
Pederson is scheduled to miss at least the next ten days with a Grade 1 separation of his A-C joint in his right shoulder. Pederson was hitting .319/.437/.568 before succombing to injury, but his strikeout rate of 28.6% is certainly a concern, even if he would be an upgrade over two of the Dodgers starting outfielders. Shoulder separations can be tricky, but hopefully this won’t end the idea of Joc in the majors at some point this season.
