Roto Riteup: May 26, 2026

First No-No of 2026!

On the Agenda:

  1. Closer Chaos
  2. Quick Hits
  3. Various News and Notes
  4. Streaming Pitchers

Closer Chaos

Lucas Erceg threw an inning versus the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits in the blown save on Monday.

Erceg has been up and down this season, registering 11 saves, but blowing four saves. Right now there isn’t a ton of competition for saves in Kansas City, but we need to keep an eye if he continues to struggle.

Quick Hits
Jose Quintana was placed on the IL with an elbow strain. There is no timetable for his return.

Dylan Cease was placed on the 15-Day IL with a hamstring strain. He is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks with the injury.

TJ Rumfield left Monday’s game after being hit on the hand with a pitch.

X-rays were negative so it appears he avoided serious injury. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

Various News and Notes
Curtis Mead went 2-for-5 with two home runs in the victory over the Nationals.

Mead is hitting .241/.353/.491 with seven home runs and three stolen bases in 136 plate appearances. He is a former top prospect that has struggled to find playing time due to poor defense. However, he has found a regular role in Washington and is worth looking at in deeper leagues.

Tatsuya Imai threw six scoreless innings versus the Rangers allowing four walks and striking out two as a part of a combined no-hitter.

Imai wasn’t overly impressive in spite of not allowing a hit. He struggled with control and command, but the Rangers were unable to do any damage with it. Imai has struggled on and off the field in Houston and is still a risky bet in fantasy moving forward.

Anthony Kay threw six innings, allowing one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out five in the victory over the Twins on Monday.

Kay was very good in this one, mixing his pitches well and he had a 50% whiff rate on the slider. Kay doesn’t have overpowering stuff, but he does have a full arsenal with four plus pitches according to Stuff+. He is best used in good matchups, but he should be a team streamer in most formats.

Streaming Pitchers (Under 50% in Yahoo)

Pitcher for Today: Eduardo Rodriguez at SF

Rodriguez continues to pitch well and has a nice matchup in a great park.

Other Options: Griffin Jax at BAL Spencer Miles vs MIA, Sean Burke vs MIN, Keider Montero vs LAA, David Peterson vs CIN, Michael McGreevy at MIL, Eric Lauer 라우어 vs COL.

Pitcher for Tomorrow: David Martin vs MIN

Martin has pitched great so far this season and the Twins aren’t a team to run away from.

Other Options: Steven Matz at BAL, Connor Prielipp at CHW, Logan Henderson vs STL, Trevor McDonald vs ARI

For those of you that would like to see how these picks play out, I have a doc I put together to track the stats from my recommended pitchers. It does not include the “Other Options.”

I have watched Imai twice this year and he got lit up both times. This no-hitter falls under the category of monkeys on typewriters.
