Roto Riteup: May 23, 2017

I am not a fan of in-game interviews, but this one is amazing:

On the Agenda:

1. Various News and Notes

Various News and Notes

According to Mark Zuckerman, the Nationals are calling up Joe Ross to start tomorrow. Ross did not fare well in his first three starts, especially in regards to keeping the ball in the park. He was better at limiting the damage from the long ball in AAA, though the result weren’t great anyhow. It is best to keep him reserved in most formats for the time being, if you are in deep enough formats to already own him.

According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, Corey Kluber is scheduled to make a rehab assignment Thursday. Kluber has been dealing with lower back soreness which cut short two of his outings before landing him on the DL. It has been a slower recovery than expected, but it is a good sign that he is on assignment. Carlos Carrasco is also expected to make his regularly scheduled start today after leaving his last start with pectoral tightness.

Denard Span is absent from the Giants lineup on Monday due to a bruised left hand. He is considered day-to-day at this time and is not expected to miss much time.

According to Evan Woodberry, Anthony Gose has been converted to a pitcher. Yeah, this isn’t really exciting news in terms of fantasy, but it is a slow news day and I found this shocking when I read about it. The early reports are good too:

Zack Greinke has been money this year. What is his secret? Could it be this:

No, it’s not, but how cool is that pitch?!? I told you it was a slow news day.

Streaming Pitcher Options

A pitcher for today: Jesse Hahn vs Mia

Why is nobody picking up Hahn? Once again I will roll him out and reap the rewards.

A pitcher for tomorrow: None

Nope. Just not going to do it. Sometimes you look at a slate and realize that you can’t use any of the lower tier options. I refuse to roll out Matt Garza or a Trevor Williams.

Gose has a really good arm,and he couldn’t hit, so not THAT shocking. I just forgot he is a lefty. Who knows, maybe he can succeed as a long reliever.

From his profile on here: “Gose’s best chance to be fantasy relevant may be to return to the mound to take advantage of his rocket-launcher of an arm (He was a pitcher in high school and could reportedly hit 95-97 mph). “
