Various News and Notes
Shohei Ohtani left Monday’s game with a finger injury after being hit on the hand with a pitch. Following the game, manager Brad Ausmus stated that Otani is expected to be fine. Consider him day-to-day this time.

Andrelton Simmons left Monday’s game with an ankle injury on this play:

X-rays came back negative after the game, but he is expected to miss a fair amount of time after being diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain. Zack Cozart is expected to see more time in Simmons’ absence, but the Angels could also recall Luis Rengifo.

Sean Newcomb received his first save of the season, firing a clean inning of work for the Braves against the Giants. Newcomb was taken out of the rotation after struggling to start the season, but he is remaking himself as a reliever. Newcomb will likely garner a lot of attention in FAAB this week if he gets another save chance, but he did not have a single swinging strike in the outing and had just three called strikes. The Braves also traded for Anthony Swarzak yesterday, so he is another possibility for them in the ninth inning.

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, Julio Urias is expected to be reinstated after MLB could not obtain video from an alleged domestic violence incident. This incident may cause an issue for Urias later on, but for now it appears the young pitcher will return to the team. It will be up to the Dodgers on how they plan to proceed with him.

Ryon Healy left Monday’s game with a back injury. There was not much information on his condition after the game, but with Kyle Seager working his way back, the writing is on the wall for Healy.

Andrew Heaney threw 4.1 innings in a AAA rehab assignment, striking out 10 and only allowing three base runners. Heaney has missed the entire season with an elbow injury, but he looks good so far in the minors and could be back soon. He is a must pick up if available.

Giancarlo Stanton began his rehab assignment, hitting a homerun in his second at bat. Stanton has taken a long time time to come back, but this is a great sign for the slugger. Expect him to be back by next week as long as he suffers no setbacks.

Pitcher for Tomorrow: Merrill Kelly at SD
Kelly rebounded in his last start and is facing a Padres offense that has struggled this year versus right handed pitching.

High Risk Options: Daniel Norris vs MIA
Norris hasn’t been good, but he has flashed some signs of life and he is facing an awful Miami offense at home.

Would you consider Jose Urena a Starter for Tomorrow, a High Risk Option or neither vs Tigers on Wednesday? Thanks!
