Roto Riteup: May 14, 2018

How I envision my return from vacation being:

What it is actually like:

On the Agenda:

1. CaNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

2. Various News and Notes

3. Streaming Pitchers

CaNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Robinson Cano left Sunday’s game with a finger injury after being hit on the hand with a pitch. Reports are that he will require surgery on the finger that was injured and will likely be out for considerable time. He has an evaluation set for Tuesday where we should get a clearer timetable.

Various News and Notes

Adam Wainwright was placed back on the 10-Day DL with elbow pain. This appears to be a re-aggravation of previous issues and will likely set him out a while. This could cement a long term spot in the rotation for Jack Flaherty and maybe even mean the arrival of Dakota Hudson with Carlos Martinez on the DL also.

Brian Anderson was forced to leave Sunday’s game with a finger injury. X-rays after the game came back negative, so this appears to be a minor issue. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

Rich Hill left his start Sunday with a blister on his middle finger. For more insight let’s check in with Fangraphs top fantasy analyst, Paul Sporer:

This is a frustrating injury to add to a frustrating season for the 87-year-old pitcher, but fantasy owners knew what they were signing up for when they bought him. Expect him to hit the DL… again…

Adrian Beltre left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. Beltre stated after the game that it is a re-aggravation of the injury that landed him on the DL earlier this season. There is no current timetable, but consider him day-to-day for right now.

Keynan Middleton left Sunday’s game with elbow pain. If he is to hit the DL, this will be the second time his elbow has forced him to miss time. He has an MRI scheduled for today, so more information is coming, but this does not sound good at all.

Streaming Pitchers Options

A pitcher for today: Sal Romano @ SF.

Romano has been very good over his last three games and gets a struggling Giants team in the comfy confines of AT&T Park.

A pitcher for tomorrow: German Marquez @ SD

Marquez has been up and down this year, but is sporting a 1.96 ERA with 9.39 K/9 on the road.

Not worth mentioning the promotion of the guy with the most homers in the minors?

Was just about to ask for thoughts on Franmil in the crowded SD OF… but ya know minus the snark.

Awesome thanks! I did wonder what a Western Metal Supply-dominating Renfroe, Statcast-god Franchy, and Franmil OF would look like. Totally forgot about Blash and Blanks. SD certainly has a type: 70-grade raw power and pray for contact development. Too bad it usually doesn’t.

So is Freddy somewhat like Willy Peralta (in terms of stuff wise/stat wise) and not so many pitches wise.?
