Hunter Pence to miss two months
Pence brutally injured his hamstring earlier this week, tearing the tendon off of the bone near the back of his knee. Prior to the injury, Pence was hitting nearly .300 with seven homers and 36 RBI. Pence barely played 50 games last year due to injury, and an eight-week turnaround means he won’t make it through 100 this year.

In his absence, the GIants are going to throw shit at the wall and see what sticks, at least until Angel Pagan returns in a little over a week. Kelby Tomlinson may get the bulk of the time since he’s hitting over .300, but expect Jarrett Parker to grab a few starts.

Various News and Notes
Since being recalled to the majors a week ago, Archie Bradley has turned in a pair of good outings. He struck out nine Padres last Sunday, and ten Cubbies yesterday evening. Couple those with a string of nice outings in the minors, and perhaps the top-prospect is back in the business of dominating hitters.

Adam Duvall continues to mash taters, hitting his 15th of the year last night, this one off Yusmeiro Petit. Duvall’s average sits at .266 now, but he’s less valuable in OBP leagues since he refuses to take free passes at a reasonable rate. The second coming of Mark Trumbo, mayhaps.

Rich Hill was supposed to start today against the division-rival Astros, but he’ll need another day or two off to deal with a sore groin. If he can’t go this weekend, he’d have an easier time in Milwaukee come Tuesday.

Domingo Santana is back in the bigs after missing a couple weeks with a shoulder injury. Santana hasn’t shown the kind of power we expected of him, but he’s been able to get on base enough to be a league average hitter to this point. We’ll see what the rest of the season has in store for this high potential outfielder.

Streaming Pitcher Options
If you enjoy streaming pitchers or play DFS, tune into the Roto Riteup for recommendations each and every day.

A pitcher for today: Chad Bettis at SDP (Andrew Cashner)
Bettis should come cheap and gets to play away from Coors.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Jhoulys Chacin at PIT (Gerrit Cole)
Cole is a tough opponent, but Chacin has been solid this year and not having to face a DL is tempting.

Facing the DL can be quite tough
