Trade Rumors!!!

According to Buster Olney of ESPN and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Giants are shopping Rafael Devers, Willy Adames, Matt Chapman, Luis Arraez, and Robbie Ray. It seems unlikely that they will be able to move Devers, Adames, or Chapman without eating larger portions of their remaining contracts, but Arraez and Ray should have no problem finding landing spots since they have expiring deals.

Quick Hits

Spencer Strider was placed on the 15-Day IL with an elbow strain. He is expected to be shut down for four weeks but the belief is that this will not lead to another surgery. He is droppable in shallower formats where you have limited IL spots. 

Christian Scott was placed on the 15-Day IL with a hip injury. There is no timetable for his return but the hope is he can return before the All-Star Break. Tobias Myers was recalled to take his spot on the roster. 

Corey Seager was placed on the 7-Day IL with a concussion. There is no timetable for his return. Josh Smith was activated from the IL to take his spot on the roster. 

Grayson Rodriguez was placed on the 15-Day IL with a back injury. There is no timetable for his return José Fermin was recalled to take his spot on the roster. 

Trea Turner left Monday’s game with a wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch.

X-Rays were negative. Consider him day-to-day for now.

 

Various News and Notes
Colt Keith went 3-for-4 with three home runs in the victory over the Astros on Monday.

Keith had only one home run on the season prior to the barrage on Monday night. Keith has taken a step back this season, not hitting the ball with the authority he did in his first two seasons. He has good contact skills and there is raw power in the bat, but he needs to become more consistent to put it all together before he has greater fantasy value.

Josh Bell went 2-for-4 with a home run in the victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Bell has been disappointing this season, hitting .236/.289/.380 with eight home runs and a stolen base in 280 plate appearances, but he has been hot in June, hitting .306 with three home runs in 49 at bats. It won’t last for long, but he is worth streaming in good matchups while he is hot.

Pitcher for Today: Foster Griffin vs KC

Griffin continues to pitch well and has a good matchup at home.

Other Options: Zebby Matthews at TEX, Jack Perkins vs PIT, Christian Scott at CIN, Brandon Young at SEA, Brady Sinder vs NYM, Robert Gasser vs CLE, Andre Pallante vs SD, Merrill Kelly 켈리 vs LAA. 

Pitcher for Tomorrow: Javier Assad vs COL

Assad has pitched well since joining the rotation and he has a great matchup versus a Rockies team that struggles on the road. 

Other Options: JR Ritchie vs SF, Andrew Painter vs MIA, Brandon Sproat vs CLE, Kyle Leahy vs SD.

I think the Giants could trade any of Devers, Adames or Matt Chapman but they would have to pay a decent portion of the money owed to them.
