The Sleeper and the Bust DFS Contest
Every week the Sleeper and the Bust podcast hosts a DFS contest for the podcast. The winner gets a shoutout on the Roto Riteup and on the podcast as well as my and Paul Sporer’s hard earned cash. This week’s winner was Hoot3000!

Trades!
The Indians, Padres, and Reds agreed to a blockbuster trade on Tuesday. The Indians received Franmil Reyes, Logan Allen and Victor Nova from the Padres and Yasiel Puig and Scott Moss from the Reds. The Reds received Trevor Bauer from the Indians. The Padres netted Taylor Trammell from the Reds. Trammell is a former top centerfield prospect, but has struggled this season. There is already talk that the Padres may flip him before the deadline. Franmil gets a nice boost in value as he should now play every day. As for Bauer and Puig:

The Rangers traded Chris Martin to the Braves for Kolby Allard. Martin is likely to be one of the Braves set up men and could be in line for some saves too if the Braves don’t further address their bullpen. Allard is a former top pitching prospect, but has struggled so far in brief stints in the Majors. He is more of a long term play than short term in Arlington.

Trade Rumors!
Noah Syndergaard told reporters on Tuesday that he does not expect to be traded. The Mets are asking for a lot in return and it appears that they have told Thor that he is likely staying put.

Matt Boyd is not expected to be traded. The Tigers are not getting the offers they would like for Botd and he has multiple years of control, so they are likely to just hold on to the 28-year-old breakout. According to multiple outlets, the Tigers are most likely will only trade assets like Shane Greene who are pending free agents.

The Giants are not expected to trade Madison Bumgarner, but are still engaged in talks on the soon-to-be-free-agent. The Giants haven’t gotten the offer they have been looking for and have been hot since the All-Star Break, so they would need a haul to be able to explain the fan base that they moved a team icon during a hot streak.

Quick Hits
Ramon Laureano was placed on the 10-Day IL with a shin injury. This is expected to keep him out for a while.

Luke Voit left Tuesday’s game with a core injury. He is expected to have an MRI on Wednesday. Tyler Wade replaced him in the game and had a great game in his stead.

Yoan Moncada left Tuesday’s game with hamstring tightness. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

Garrett Cooper left Tuesday’s game with a hamstring injury. He is expected to be fine.

The Rays are expected to call up prospect Brendan McKay to start Thursday’s game.

Danny Salazar will make his season debut on Thursday. Slazar has not pitched in the Majors since 2017, but has been fantastic during his rehab. He is worth a pick up in deeper formats.
