Various News and Notes

Carlos Gomez was pulled from Wednesday’s game with an apparent hamstring issue. After the game, Gomez said it was a day-to-day thing and not something he anticipated going on the DL for.

Mets’ manager Terry Collins has ruled out Jeurys Familia for thursday’s game following pitching in back-to-back outings. In Wednesday’s outing, he blew his first save opportunity since July 30th, 2015. While it is nothing to be worried about in season long league, in H2H formats, Addison Reed maybe worth a stream if you need saves this week.

Hunter Pence is getting going in his minor league rehab stint. He has hit his third home run with Triple-A Sacramento and could return as soon as this weekend.

The Rangers acquired Lucas Harrell and Dario Alvarez for prospect Travis Demeritte. Harrell, who will pitch out of the Rangers rotation according to general manager Jon Daniels, has well enough in five starts for the Braves this year. However, his 5.17 xFIP and 4.98 SIERRA point to obvious regression coming. The real prize in this deal is Demeritte, who has been crushing the Cal league. He is hitting .272/.352/.583 with 25 home runs and 13 stolen bases. While he is striking out at an enormous clip, the 21-year-old second baseman should be on radars in dynasty and keeper leagues for those looking to rebuild.
