Roto Riteup: July 25, 2018

I don’t know who showed more athleticism on Tuesday night, Lane Thomas or Kike Hernandez:

On the Agenda:
1. Rumors!
2. Various News and Notes
3. Streaming Pitchers

Trade!
Zach Britton was traded from the Baltimore Orioles to the New York Yankees for Dillon Tate, Josh Rogers, and Cody Carroll. Britton joins an already loaded Yankees bullpen and the move may signify that the Yankees are less than thrilled with the available starting pitchers on the market. In Baltimore, the Orioles get three pitching prospects that are close to the Majors. Brad Brach likely fills the closer’s role for the Orioles with Britton gone, but he is likely to be traded as well and Mychal Givens would likely be next up after him.

Rumors!
According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the Diamondbacks are interested in acquiring Rangers relievers Keone Kela and Jose Leclerc. Kela has been a hot name in trade rumors as of late and would be a nice addition to a bullpen that has not perform well as of late. Both relievers have multiple years if team control so the Rangers should get a decent haul for either pitcher. Evan Grant also reported that the Pirates have interest in Kela as well. A move to Pittsburgh would likely be a bad one for Kela’s fantasy value as the Pirates have Felipe Vasquez under a long-term deal.

Various News and Notes
Gary Sanchez was placed on the 10-Day DL with a groin injury. Sanchez was reportedly injured yesterday on this play:

There is no current timetable for his return.

Bryce Harper missed Tuesday’s game with a stomach virus. Harper was used off of the bench in the 10 inning loss, so apparently it isn’t that serious of an illness. Harper is expected to be back in the lineup today for the Nationals.

According of Dennis Lin of The Athletic, the Padres have “checked in” on Noah Syndergaard. This coincided with a report from Ken Rosenthal that the Padres have “significant interest” in Chris Archer as well. The Padres have a loaded farm system, so this wouldn’t be an impossibility, especially if they want to speed up the rebuild process.

Streaming Pitchers Options
A pitcher for today: Clayton Richard @ NYM
Richard has not been great lately, but the Mets are awful versus lefties (except yesterday apparently.)

A pitcher for tomorrow: Nick Kingham vs NYM
I have been picking on the Mets recently, mostly because they aren’t good and should trade more pieces in the next coming days.
Hail Mary Options: Dylan Covey @LAA, Brian Johnson vs MIN
Best Name: Ranger Suarez

Eovaldi to the Red Sox – good for Eovaldi or bad? Better team and he doesn’t have to face the Sox again while getting to face the Rays now, but it is a worse ballpark.
