Various News and Notes
Pirates top prospect Tyler Glasnow made his second MLB start last night, and he was removed after three innings due to “discomfort” in his throwing shoulder. It sounds as if he actually was having some issues before he started and didn’t want to bring it up and disappoint the team. Glasnow will undergo some tests, and we should know more within the next 48 hours.

The White Sox may not be actively shopping Chris Sale, but they are certainly listening to offers, and may be opening their ear holes even wider after yesterday. Sale was scratched from his start and sent home after destroying his throwback uniform, which he previously requested not having to wear because they were uncomfortable. There’s no word on how long the White Sox may keep him away.

Braden Shipley will make his MLB debut for the Diamondbacks tomorrow against the Brewers. One of the top prospects the club hasn’t traded away, Shipley has been exceedingly mediocre in Triple-A, striking out less than one-in-six batters he’s faced, the lowest rate of his minor league career. Shipley may not be long for the rotation at the moment — simply filling in for Zack Greinke — but he’ll be auditioning for a role later this year and a leg up next Spring.

Ryan Zimmerman is on his way back from injury and expected to be activated from the DL within the next couple days. No longer the quality offensive corner infielder that he was earlier in his career, Zimmerman still has some pop in his early-30s, but not enough to justify a incredibly harmful batting average and 1B only eligibility.

The Cardinals are calling starter Mike Mayers up to make his big league debut today against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mayers has a chance to be a back-of-the-rotation starter, but he’s certainly not a top prospect that you need to worry about targeting in fantasy leagues.

Streaming Pitcher Options
If you enjoy streaming pitchers or play DFS, tune into the Roto Riteup for recommendations each and every day.

A pitcher for today: Rick Porcello vs MIN (Tommy Milone)
Porcello won’t be available in most traditional leagues, he’ll be a solid selection for the cost in DFS on a day without many quality mid-tier matchups.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Hector Santiago at KCR (Ian Kennedy)
If he’s any more available, IPK isn’t a bad pick himself.

I hate to be that guy but if you’re waiting for a jack and coke to compliment you, you’ll be waiting a long time.
