When that Miller Park ice cream is just too tempting:

Can't resist. #MLBFood

Orlando Arcia helped himself in a move reminiscent of Prince Fielder and Don Mattingly:

Arcia is feeling great at the dish, too, with a .369/.407/.560 line, 3 HR, and 4 SB over his last 28 days.

Frazier Goes Yard in Debut

Clint Frazier didn’t waste any time making an impact with a 2-for-4 debut that included a double and his first MLB home run:

Just what we needed to ensure his FAAB pricing goes through the roof this weekend! His path to long-term playing time is unclear, but he should get a legitimate audition. Matt Holliday isn’t expected back this week with his viral infection. Aaron Hicks is out for a few more weeks with his oblique strain, too.

The depth of OF this year means that most aren’t in desperate need of Frazier, even a prospect who can make an immediate impact. He’s worth a flier in just about any format because of the potential, but I’d reserve the double-digit bids for AL-Only leagues.

Taylor Grand Again

Chris Taylor has 10 home runs this year, three of which are grand slams! He hit his third on Saturday night off Craig Stammen. Taylor hit just one homer last year, a grand slam. So four of his 11 career homers are grand slams. All told, he has a .280/.369/.486 line with 10 HR and 10 SB in 249 PA. He is striking out 28% of the time, but also walking at a 12% clip. I’m surprised he’s so widely available even after two-plus months of production (65 games). He also has tons of positional flexibility with 2B, 3B, and OF. He should at least be on a roster in 10-teamers and beyond.

LoMo with Two Mo

Logan Morrison needed just 79 games to set a new career-high in home runs. He popped 23 in 123 games all the way back in 2011, but a pair on Saturday gives him 24 for the season. The lefty first baseman is having a career-year with a .256/.364/.581 line, though the depth of the position leaves him available in some shallower leagues. He does slot 10th at 1B on ESPN’s Player Rater, but so many of the names behind him remain ahead of him in rest of season outlook.

Greinke Dominant at Home

One of the biggest issues in Zack Greinke’s debut season with the Arizona Diamondbacks last year was his work at home. He managed just a 4.81 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 2.2 K/BB ratio in 78.7 innings. He has completely flipped the script this year with a 2.67 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 6.8 K/BB in 64 innings, plus an 8-0 record. Travis Sawchik wrote a great piece on how Jeff Mathis is a big part of that success.

Cutch to stay in CF

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said that Starling Marte will return as the LF, leaving Andrew McCutchen in CF. Cutch had a brilliant June (1.193 OPS) after a tough start and he’s put up an .898 OPS in 274 PA as a CF this year.
