Paul Sporer: I think it’d be based on league-site. I feel like it would count because IIRC, the regular season tiebreakers we’ve seen in past years HAVE counted on fantasy sites

Paul Sporer: Under — 173

Minty: 10 team, 30 man roster OBP, $200 cap. I have Bryant/Arenado/Correa/Moncada. Keep Villar at 12/14/16 or 14/16? Been a monster, but for only a year.

Paul Sporer: Yeah, I’d keep him. Love the punch he adds with the transcendent speed, even with regression he’s a stud

#freeConforto: If Collins stays and the current OF remain in the organization, will you still be excited about Conforto next year?

Paul Sporer: Ya, I still like him going forward. Obviously haven’t seen much v. LHP yet, but even if he’s *only* a strong side platoon guy, he can be an impact bat

Ceej: Rodin and Reyes take different routes to high WHIPs, but who do you have more faith in cutting down the BB?

Paul Sporer: Rodon already showed improvement this year and I think he’ll continue to evolve. Reyes is just getting started so I think we’ll still see some BB issues throughout at least next year, if not ’18 as well

Pablo: Thanks for the chats and pods all year. No question, just a suggestion to have a recurring pod focusing on dynasty/prospect guys, if you have the time & expertise.

Paul Sporer: Thanks so much! We’ll do some dynasty/prospect stuff this offseason, but a regular pod on it from us would be tough because our bandwidth is mostly focused on MLB

Sean: 12 team, keep 8, extra categories SLG, OBP, XBH, BB, K. Last keeper option is either Benitendi, Belt, Dahl, or Renfroe through guys on my roster or possible standing trade offers. Who is the best option for the next 5 years? No specific category needs.

Paul Sporer: Coors gets the edge a lot of times, even if the player isn’t quite as talented as those they’re being compared to, but Dahl has the talent AND Coors, so it’s him

Bart: Pick 2 “franchise” players for 2017 from the following: Hosmer, Cano, Lindor, Cargo, Arrieta, Greinke, Domingo Santana, Castellanos. Thanks.

Paul Sporer: Lindor and Cargo (unless he’s traded from Coors, then I’d go Cano or Hosmer)

Minty: Trade 2 years of Daniel Murphy for keep forever Moncada? I’m competing now, but feel like now’s the time to sell and potentially extend my window.

Paul Sporer: I can get behind that. Moncada is close enough that he could actually start paying dividends next year even though I took the under on that PA count earlier

Daniel: Would you keep Ross for a price of 21/450? These last few starts, he’s looked pretty good.

Paul Sporer: I think it’s borderline, but I can get behind it

Ks for Cash: After today’s Robbie Ray outing deja vu, except the Ks, looked up his stats with runners on base: .297 BAA, 1.72 WHIP. If he could only keep from putting runners on. Only .246 and 1.28 with bases empty.

Paul Sporer: That’s the case for a lot of pitchers. Pitching with runners on is extremely difficult, especially when you let a lot of them on. I just remain so skeptical on Ray

Paul Sporer: I’ll go Kang there. Love Darvish, but I don’t really want to keep 3 SPs in a keep 6 situation

Peter: In an 7×7 that includes walks and strikeouts, would you keep Votto or Villar? Villar has respectable 77 walks but is killed in Ks.

Paul Sporer: Wow, I think I gotta go against my boy Votto here. Villar K’d a lot, but delivered everywhere else. Votto is a total stud and BB obviously gives him a superstar category, but the all-around contributions of Villar at middle infield is tough to pass

Toki: Will Machado record a steal next season?

Paul Sporer: Yes, 6

Toki: Was this year a coming out party for Segura? Or is this just a career year that is an albatross?

Paul Sporer: Closer to a coming out party and I’d say that regression looks like his 2013 which would still be great

John C.: Hey Paul I asked Eno this earlier, wanted to see your thoughts as well…I’m already thinking about 2017 keepers. 14 team league, keep 4. Miggy, Marte and Stanton feel like locks in rounds 1-3 but my fourth keeper will probably change 100 times this winter. I feel like my best options are C. Davis (4th), Danny Salazar (4th), J. Upton (4th), Rendon (5th), Grandal (10th), Nola (14th) or L. Martin (19th). What’s your hot take?

Paul Sporer: Rendon is my choice, though Grandal and Nola are close. If Nola’s health looks good to start ’17 without incident, I think there’s a real case for him.

Moltar: Chatwood was sneaky good down the stretch for me, what kind of value does he have for 2017? Think he’ll be ownable all year or will the ballpark force him to be a streaming option?

Paul Sporer: He’s a total streamer. Relies too much on contact management to find regular success in Coors and it shows in the numbers: 6.12 ERA/1.64 WHIP at home, 1.69/1.11 on the road

Anthony: Is Domingo Santana a keeper at $1 next year? 12 team league 5×5 roto 25 man roster. Either that or Hunter Pence at $3?

Paul Sporer: With Pence being that cheap, it’s still him for more. Santana is an intriguing $1 guy in a vacuum, but not over a cheap Pence

Avi: Will MLB ever recognize the Hold as an official stat? Because of it not being official, Yahoo credited a pitcher with both a win and a hold (going by the definitions, an impossibility).

Paul Sporer: I’m not really sure. That’s crazy, I hadn’t seen that. Who was it?

Bill: 5×5 roto with OBP replacing BA, and $500 cap. Five keepers among (could also buy a keeper slot for approximatelty$10): Odor at $26 (can keep 1 year): Sano at $21 (can keep 2 years; Chris Carter at $22 (can keep three years); Moncada at $11 (can keep up to 3 years) Urias and Reyes at $11 (can keep 3 years) C Rodon and Blake Snell at $17 (can keep 3 years); Any consideration for Kepler, H Perez or R Schimpf at $11

Paul Sporer: Not a bad price for those three, but I the others are better keeps. As far as the pitchers, I think I’d go Rodon and Urias

Moltar: Keep-6 h2h points, $300 budget. Keeping for sure Kershaw and Lindor, %90 sure I want to keep Lester and Freeman as well (good price on both). Who do I choose as my last two keepers from: Bregman, Sanchez, Fulmer, Stroman, Belt or Dahl? All of those guys are at or near the minimum.

Paul Sporer: I assume that’s Aaron Sanchez. Love him and Fulmer… and Stroman for that matter, but I really think the two young stud hitters are the way to go – Bregman & Dahl

twinmh: Dynasty leagues, what would you risk on Brantley? A good closer like Colome, or are you staying away?

Paul Sporer: I think I’m staying away. I remember when injuries first struck, Eno mentioned some long term concern. This was back when we expected him to return in relatively short order, but Eno said he’d be wary of him down the line. I’m kind off the Brantley bandwagon outside of a low dollar lottery gamble in drafts next year

Paul Sporer: Segura hurt in Washington??

Dave: How do you view Yulieski Gourriel’s value for next season?

Paul Sporer: Should be a solid CI bat in standard mixers (10-12 teams). Good pop and surrounding team

JD15: Think Price and Kershaw will both start this weekend even though both have clinched?

Paul Sporer: I really don’t know, it’s tough. Aren’t both teams still going for home field? The thing is, they could be really abbreviated starts just to keep them on schedule

Barry: In a $400 standard otto, which pitchers do I keep? Quintana $22 , Thor $17, Stras $38, Stroman $16, Steven Wright $7, Tanaka $22, Keuchel $18

Paul Sporer: Thor, Stro, Q, and Tanaka are my 4 favorites. Scared off of Stras at that price

JD15: Got any good streaming names for a deep league for Saturday/ Sunday or will it be a crapshoot depending on who gets the TBD starts?

Paul Sporer: I think it’ll be up in the air, but based on PROJECTED SPs I like (in no order): Eduardo Rodriguez (though prob not really available anymore), Tyler Anderson, Joe Musgrove, Matt Boyd, Wily Peralta, Wei-Yin Chen, Jharel Cotton, Sean Manaea, Martin Perez (unless Ks are a need). And for super deep leagues, maybe see what Chase Whitley has in his return

Minty: No joke, had a H2H finals decided years ago by a last day Jay Bruce error. After that we got rid of fielding percentage.

Paul Sporer: Still gonna be like 4th through 7th area. The SBs are super alluring

Paul Sporer: No, not crazy. I took Villar in the 2nd round of a mock. 3rd is a little earlier than I’d like to go for Turner, but get your guy – it’s not egregious

Curious: Think your comparing Kyle Hendricks to Dallas Keuchel is wrong. Their track record is different and Keuchel has been hurt this year.

Paul Sporer: Reasonable minds can disagree, but I think there’s a lot of hype on Hendricks despite no major skill changes from last year. I understand that he influences the kind of contact he draws, but this isn’t an elite fantasy arm

Minty: Kershaw or Scherzer the next 3 years? Both are studs to different degrees and carry risk as pitching and having pitched a lot.

Paul Sporer: Still Kersh for me, but they’re 2 of the very best now and in the coming years

Gest: I’m excited to draft Rodon next year. Do you see progression?

Paul Sporer: Same. I haven’t been able to fully investigate his 2H, but I’ve liked him from jump street and I like some of the gains we’ve seen

GarzaGifs: Is it wrong to be proud of a season where everything went wrong in for you in a Fantasy Baseball season, yet you still managed to finish 6th out of 12 teams?

Paul Sporer: No, it’s not. Sometimes you gotta overcome a lot of crap in your season to grind out a midpack finish. Kudos to you for not quitting and just saying “well this season sucks” and not set your lineup for three months

Moltar: Thanks! I actually meant Gary Sanchez, should very much have clarified. Would you keep him over Bregman or Dahl?

Paul Sporer: Ooh snap, that does change things. I’ll go Gary and Dahl instead

Paul Sporer: That’s fringe, but the stuff is there to be a solid mid-rotation arm

Minty: Once he comes back down to earth, what kind of production are you expecting from Trea in the next couple of years?

Paul Sporer: I’ll say yes

Gattitude: Would you consider Gattis a keeper now in a keep 7, 12 team mixed league?

Paul Sporer: The return of C eligibility certainly puts him into consideration. Borderline for me

Drew: Is Miggy worth keeping at $43 in a 12 team OBP keeper? FWIW, Rizzo is kept at $52, Goldy at $60. The elite players all cost a lot (Machado at $70)

Paul Sporer: Yes, even in decline

Boss Man: Jung Ho Kang – weird season. Probably not as good as his hot start/late finish and not as bad as his cold stretch in June/July. Are we excited about him going into next year?

Paul Sporer: I wonder how much the alleged assault in Chicago played a role. I won’t pretend to know his innocence or guilt, but his worst play came when it was hanging in the balance. The latest news I saw said police could no longer reach the accuser. Again, i don’t know what that means for the innocence or guilt of Kang, but if it’s a closed situation, it might explain part of why his game got back on track. These are always tricky situations to discuss because obviously if he’s guilty, it’s heinous and I couldn’t care less about his stats, but if he’s innocent and the matter is closed, then we get to focus on his high level talent.

Tom: Have Verlander, Cueto, deGrom, Kluber in a keep 6 (along with Cano and Miggy) – ideal pitcher to trade and what bat should i target?

Paul Sporer: Not sure who to target, but I’d definitely look to move some arms for bats. Those are great arms, but none of them are particularly young and I just don’t like keeping a ton of pitchers regardless of age
