Paul Sporer: I’m fine selling high on Davis. That power is awesome, but he’s definitely one of the streakier guys (all players are streaky, that’s just baseball, but some are streakier than most and Davis qualifies there). I’d ask pretty high from a power-starved team. Try a Salazar-type, settle for CarMart/Tanaka

2:04	Paul Sporer: I think I got him wrong. Didn’t buy the improvements vs. RHP at 30, but he was hitting well apart from power before last weekend and then busted out for 6 HR. He’s good. I was wrong.

2:04	ctw: Paul, would you drop Gausman for Tillman/Rubby/Conley? I’ve avoided Tillman like the plague in the past but can’t deny what he’s doing this year

2:04	Paul Sporer: I still think Gausman has more upside, but I like all 3 of those guys. Anyone else you can chop?>

2:04	Keeper? I hardly know her: Do you think Lorenzo Cain + Matt Andriese is enough for Adam Eaton? 12 team H2H dynasty where Andriese has RP elig and no inning limit

2:06	Paul Sporer: It certainly should be. I don’t see much diff between Cain & Eaton tbh so if you’re ok giving a sweetner like Andriese, it should def work

2:08	Paul Sporer: I like the Grich for Lamb. I still like Grichy, but in a 10-teamer, you can’t afford to wait around for guys to get going. His HR/SB are there, but .218 AVG is so bad

2:12	Paul Sporer: I think I admit my wrongness enough for it to not be too obnoxious when I backpat a bit so I’ll mention that I was high on Dietrich all winter/spring. So ya, I like him. And they’ll find PT if he keeps mashing

2:12	B: Do you expect Franco will turn it around? Using him at UTIL and have other options there. If I shop him what sort of SP would you expect in return?

2:13	Paul Sporer: Yeah he’s not even that far down. He’s a hot week from batting .280 (like a 10-for-20 kinda hot streak). Pwr still there w/7 HR already

2:13	Shawn: Gattis worth stashing for C eligibility (5 games on Yahoo) in a shallow league? Have Sal Perez already

2:14	Paul Sporer: Ehhh, I guess, but he’s not that much better than Sal

2:14	Marcellus: Paul, could really use your help. Playing in a 10-teamer and have a roster crunch with Odor’s upcoming suspension. Have a rotation of Nola, Hamels, Verlander, Wacha, and Tanaka. Feel okay about dropping any of those guys in this shallow of a league to free up a spot?

2:14	Paul Sporer: Man, it’s tough to cut any of those guys even in a 10-teamer. I’d really try the trade route which I know is much easier said than done.

2:14	No Regrets: Hi Paul. Which Visions track title best applies to Berrios: Hype? U With Me?? Redemption? Faithful? Too Good? Invested big. Hold him in AL-Only, 3 bench spots? Thanks!

2:15	Paul Sporer: You mean Views, but I’d say “Faithful”. Stuff was still evident even in the struggles. Just wasn’t quite ready yet.

boo: Collette really was down on Archer on the pod a few days ago. I love him, but in a 10-team lg that has saves and holds, my relievers are unbalanced towards holds. Are you optimistic enough to hold Archer, or should I try shopping his name value around for a pretty good closer, Britton/Robertson/Ramos? or shoot for higher?

2:15	Paul Sporer: Shoot for the best closers for him. Though I consider Britton in that class, so you are. He just doesn’t look right

2:16	Marcus: Have you warmed to Samarzdija yet? Is he a top 30 SP going forward?

2:17	Paul Sporer: Ya I was a little bit of a scorned lover after last year, but I still recognized how good this move was for him. He’s pitching well home & away. I’d say top 30 is possible. I think I’ll have him more top-40 when I do my updated rankings which are going out to SP Guide folks this week

2:17	Tim: What’s a fair return for Lindor? Looking for a young hitter at another position.

2:18	Paul Sporer: Shoot really high. He’s awesome. Maybe not first-rounders, but anything after that is a fair ask.

2:20	Paul Sporer: 20 feels high as he’s not terribly efficient. But teens with a .750 OPS is possible. I think ppl don’t realize he’s a young guy who had some prospect love.

2:20	Eric: Your last podcast has me worried about Archer. Should I be trying to flip him for an upside arm like Stroman? I was offered Gray and Raisel for him, but how worried should I be? (I don’t need the Ks).

2:21	Paul Sporer: I’d actually be open to the Gray/Raisel even though I’m a little worried on Gray (though I think it’s more a funk for Sonny than injury). Sounds you like prefer Stro, though, so go for that. It’s defensible for sure.

2:22	Paul Sporer: Nah, nowhere near the worst. But I get the frustration.

2:22	Spaceman Spiff: McCullers is available. My worst SP’s are Pineda/Chen/Odorrizi/Eovaldi. Should I make a swap? I’m more concerned about playoffs than winning right now

2:22	Philbert: Been offered Puig for Shaw in a redraft. At the start of the season I would have jumped on this, but I’m not so sure at the moment. Shaw is helping me weather Fielder’s poor start. Would you take Puig?

2:24	Paul Sporer: I would. Shaw has impressed me, but he’s a double platoon plate – home only and vs. right only. I can’t tell you it’s all roses & butterflies w/Puig, but the bad parts of his profile (namely the pop-ups) are correctable

2:24	Chip: Adam Duvall has been pretty good in LF for the Reds. Does this affect Jesse Winker’s ETA at all, or is mostly about when Jay Bruce gets traded?

2:25	Paul Sporer: I think the latter is most important of what you listed, but also Winker isn’t exactly forcing his way up with a modest .729 OPS so Duvall has leash

2:27	Paul Sporer: Don’t sell low on J Up, won’t get enough. Honestly depends how badly you need SP and what you need in pitching. Stanton still draws the most. I know he’s hitting .221, but I’m not taking less than an ace.

2:27	The Cincinnati Kid: With the injuries are Reed & Gallo still June-ish timetables or much later now?

2:28	Paul Sporer: Reed who? AJ? Gallo could still be up shortly after returning from injury, so yeah, sometime next month

2:28	Eric: Is Trevor May worth owning anymore for spec saves? (12 team league). His last few outings have me concerned. Maybe Will Harris has more value?

2:29	Paul Sporer: Not only 3 straight disasters, but also Perk on his way back so yeah go ahead and move on

2:29	OnSight: Buying into Neil Walker’s power surge? Batted ball mix looks different and he added a high leg kick from the right side to generate more power

Will : 12 team Hth keep forever. Dealt mccutchen, wacha and maenea for price, nelson Cruz and bettances. Badly needed the pitching help and think Cruz numbers won’t look too different from mccutchen at the end of the year with mccutchen not running and a batted ball profile that might lead to a lower avg then Weve seen in the past. Did I do alright or sell too low on cutch? Thanks for your time!

2:35	Paul Sporer: Streaming takes work and I usually stream in hopes of finding someone to stick so ideally find a sticker

Paul Sporer: Guys, the what should I get back for this guy questions are really hard. I have no idea your league market. And I know you’re kind looking for general ideas, but leagues vary so much that even that can be useless a lot of the time. Why not include someone you want to go for and I can answer if I think it’s a viable target?

2:37	Pugs: I’m going to be on House Hunters in Austin soon, so that’s neat. I just traded JBJ for Greinke in a 16 team, keep 4 forever league. Do you think Greinke will be worth more than JBJ ROS?

2:37	Paul Sporer: That’s pretty awesome… on both counts!! I’m not huge on Greinke this year, but I still think that’s a sharp sell-high, buy-low

Paul Sporer: He’s a highly skilled hitter. Injuries ate half his season last year and he was still essentially average. Why would he only steal 9 w/5 already? I think his SBs are an indicator that he’s healthy so I’m definitely buying. .280 BABIP and 4% HR/FB are light, I really think he’s been running a bit cold. Hot streak coming, IMO.

2:50	Cecil: About your epic battle with Liss, I agreed with Chris until I heard you on their XM show. Building a nine man rotation is what we care about, totally correct.

2:51	Paul Sporer: Yeah in a one-off, I get that Teheran’s Ws hurt him being on ATL, but I can cover that w/the rest of my rotation. Plus he won 11 on a dogshit tm last year so he’s not destined to 5 Ws this year

3:05	Paul Sporer: Calmed down after shaky first inning. I think there will be bumps, but also strong starts. I think a 3.75 ERA with a ton of Ks and blah WHIP

3:07	Paul Sporer: Damn, tough crowd. Three OF have gone .300+/15+ as a 21-year old since 2000: Pujols, Trout, and J-Up. I think you greatly underestimate how awesome that is at his age in his first MLB go. Tremendous prospect.

3:10	Paul Sporer: Not very. I don’t mess with guys in TJ returns. There’ll be ups and downs and his WHIP is already suspect so it could be 1.35+

3:10	Tim: I’m in first place of my AL-keeper league right now, so winning is of course my number one focus. However, I still can’t help going after prospects like Fulmer, Tropeano and Manaea. Should I be dropping any of those guys for Ervin Santana, or do I keep the pups for their bigger upsides?

3:11	Paul Sporer: How the hell is Ervin Santana available in an AL only? I know his WHIP is high, but damn. Trade 2 pups for a stud and pick up Erv.
