American League

Angels

• Since coming off the IL, Christian Moore (87 wRC+) started in four straight games at second base.

Bryce Teodosio (39% K%, .625 BABIP) started five straight in center field.

• There has been a different starting third baseman over the last three games (Yoán Moncada, Luis Rengifo, and Oswald Peraza).

Astros

• While on the strong side of a platoon, Jesús Sánchez bats second.

Carlos Correa is playing third base while batting in the top half of the lineup.

Athletics

JJ Bleday started in three of the last four games, while playing all three outfield positions.

Lawrence Butler (.562 OPS vs LHP, .740 OPS vs RHP) sits against lefties.

Max Schuemann (75 OPS+) started in eight of the last 10 games, with the last three being at third base.

Blue Jays

• The team is running out two distinct lineups, one against lefties and one against righties. All the platoons are happening in the outfield with Myles Straw and Davis Schneider facing lefties and Daulton Varsho, Nathan Lukes, and Joey Loperfido facing righties. Lukes and Loperfido take turns facing lefties.

Guardians

• Since being promoted, C.J. Kayfus (53 wRC+, 31% K%) started in four of five games at first base and in the outfield.

Carlos Santana started in just five of the last eight games.

Daniel Schneemann only starts against righties.

Mariners

Dominic Canzone started 13 straight games, including three against lefties.

Eugenio Suárez bats fifth.

Orioles

Jeremiah Jackson (.313/.343/.537 with 15 HR and 11 SB in AAA) started six straight games. Not the worst Steamer600 comps.

Dylan Carlson (51 OPS+) with eight straight starts in centerfield.

Coby Mayo (89 OPS+) with six straight starts at first base.

Rangers

Joc Pederson (vs RHP) and Josh Jung (vs LHP) are in a DH platoon.

Rowdy Tellez (vs RHP) and Ezequiel Duran (vs LHP) are in a first base platoon with Jake Burger on the IL.

Rays

Jonny DeLuca (125 OPS+) started seven straight games in centerfield.

• There are several time shares (DH, 2 OF spots, SS), but it’s impossible to know who is starting each game.

Red Sox

• The team has a few too many regulars, so a couple of them are on the bench every game.

Abraham Toro started at first base in 11 of the last 12 games.

Royals

Mike Yastrzemski (vs RHP) and Randal Grichuk (vs LHP) form an outfield platoon.

Tigers

• Besides Wenceel Pérez (120 wRC+), there are no regulars in the bottom half of the lineup.

Twins

• A lot is going on here. It appears that Kody Clemens, Luke Keaschall, Brooks Lee, Alan Roden, and Austin Martin have starting jobs (no platoons). Last week, they didn’t. I’m sure I’ll be wrong on one or two of these guys.

White Sox

Curtis Mead started the last two games at first base.

Brooks Baldwin with five straight starts at third base.

Yankees

Paul Goldschmidt (111 wRC+) with seven starts in the last 10 games.

• In the 12 games since joining the team, Ryan McMahon (.297/.395/.351, 35% K%, .500 BABIP with NYY) started in 11 of them

National League

Braves

• Due to injuries, Eli White and Nacho Alvarez Jr. (possibly hurt) get full-time at-bats.

Brewers

Blake Perkins (.278/.339/.556, 3 HR, 3 SB in 59 PA) with seven straight starts.

Caleb Durbin (vs LHP) and Anthony Seigler (vs RHP) form a third base platoon.

Cardinals

• Since Arenado went on the IL, Nolan Gorman started five of six games at third base.

Cubs

Willi Castro started five straight games playing four different positions. He’s allowing everyone to get a day off.

Diamondbacks

Tyler Locklear (.200/.360/.350) started six straight at first base.

Blaze Alexander (.222/.309/.333) with eight straight starts at third base.

Alek Thomas (.257/.305/.395) with nine starts in the last 10 games, including three against lefties.

Dodgers

Alex Call (vs LHP) and Michael Conforto (vs RHP) form a left field platoon.

Alex Freeland (.286/.348/.286, 35% K%, .462 BABIP) started in six of the last seven games since being promoted.

Giants

• Right field is up in the air, but is probably a Grant McCray/Luis Matos platoon.

Dominic Smith only starts against righties.

Marlins

Heriberto Hernandez started in only six of the last 10 games.

Graham Pauley (vs RHP) and Javier Sanoja (vs LHP) form a third base platoon.

Jakob Marsee (1.427 OPS) started six straight games since being promoted.

Mets

Brett Baty, Ronny Mauricio, and Mark Vientos are in some unstable third base timeshare.

Nationals

• All the hitters are bad and in part-time roles. Almost the entire team can be ignored.

Padres

Ramón Laureano with six straight outfield starts.

• Since being traded for, Ryan O’Hearn started in only three of the five games.

Freddy Fermin started at catcher in four of the last five games.

Phillies

• Since the trade deadline, Edmundo Sosa started six straight games moving between second and third base, with Otto Kemp facing lefties and Bryson Stott facing righties.

• The outfield has two platoons with Brandon Marsh and Max Kepler facing righties and Harrison Bader and Weston Wilson facing lefties.

Pirates

Jared Triolo (.176/.275/.277) has taken over at shortstop with Isiah Kiner-Falefa moving over to third base.

Jack Suwinski is back and starting against most righties.

Reds

Gavin Lux (vs RHP) and Miguel Andujar (vs LHP) are in a DH/IF platoon.

Ke’Bryan Hayes started in six of seven games since being traded to the Reds. During that time, he is batting .227/.227/.364.

Rockies

Warming Bernable (.364.378/.705, 3 HR in 45 PA) with 11 straight starts.

• This lineup is going to take a while to settle with Thairo Estrada and Orlando Arcia just going on the IL.
