Lineup Analysis (6/14/25)
American League
Angels
• The second base circle jerk could be over with the promotion of Christian Moore. I’m guessing third base will continue to be a revolving cast of characters.
Astros
• Since being called up from AAA, Jacob Melton (.427 OPS) started eight of 10 games.
• Yainer Diaz and Victor Caratini usually DH when not catching.
Athletics
• Max Muncy (.601 OPS) with seven starts in the last eight games.
• There aren’t enough lineup spots for everyone. “Regulars” have to take a random game off.
Blue Jays
• Besides George Springer, none of the other outfielders play enough to matter.
• Ernie Clement started seven straight games while starting at all four infield positions.
Guardians
• David Fry (vs LHP) and Kyle Manzardo (vs RHP) form a DH platoon.
• Gabriel Arias (.662 OPS) hit fifth in the last two games.
• Angel Martínez started three at second base, giving him 12 games at the position.
Mariners
• Over the last three games, the team had just as many right fielders (Dominic Canzone, Miles Mastrobuoni, and Dylan Moore).
• Johnathan Rodríguez (.458 OPS) with four straight starts in right field.
Orioles
• Coby Mayo (vs LHP) and Ryan O’Hearn (vs RHP) form a first base platoon.
• Ramón Laureano (.834 OPS) with six straight starts since coming off the IL.
Rangers
• Marcus Semien is now batting fourth while hitting .391/.494/.885 over the last 28 days.
Rays
• Jake Mangum (.705 OPS) with 11 starts in 12 days.
• José Caballero and Kameron Misner aren’t playing enough to be fantasy relevant. Both have started in three of the last six games.
Red Sox
• Marcelo Mayer (vs RHP) and Romy Gonzalez (vs LHP) form a corner infield platoon.
• Abraham Toro bats third.
• When Carlos Narváez plays, he hits cleanup.
• Roman Anthony bats fifth.
Royals
• The outfield remains a mess with Nick Loftin, Kyle Isbel, Drew Waters, John Rave, and Mark Canha sharing two spots.
• Jac Caglianone hits sixth.
Tigers
• Colt Keith (vs RHP) and Zach McKinstry (vs LHP) form a third base platoon.
• Jahmai Jones (vs LHP) and Kerry Carpenter (vs RHP) form a DH platoon.
• Trey Sweeney (.585) is a drop with three starts in the last 11 games.
Twins
• The second and third base situations are a mess with Royce Lewis, Brooks Lee, Willi Castro, Kody Clemens, and Jonah Bride playing one of the two positions over the past three games. I’m not sure if any of them are rosterable besides Castro. Over the last 10 games, Lewis started only six times.
White Sox
• After 15 straight games against righty starters, the team faced a lefty. Mike Tauchman and Josh Rojas headed to the bench.
• Kyle Teel (.721 OPS) started in five of six games since being promoted.
Yankees
• DJ LeMahieu sits every fourth or fifth game. I’m guessing they are trying to keep him healthy.
• The DH situation will be a mess with Giancarlo Stanton about to come off the IL.
National League
Braves
• Michael Harris III (.780 OPS, 2 HR last week) moved up to hitting between fifth and seventh.
• Alex Verdugo (.416 OPS last two weeks) started only one game of the last four in left field.
Brewers
• Isaac Collins, Daz Cameron, and Jake Bauers are splitting time in left field.
Cardinals
• Alec Burleson (.753 OPS, 5 HR) with six straight starts, including two against lefties.
Cubs
• Michael Busch started against three of the last five lefties instead of Justin Turner.
Diamondbacks
• Alek Thomas (.273/.314/.398, 3 HR, 4 SB) started seven straight, including once against a lefty.
Dodgers
• The team is using one extra “regular”, so someone sits every game. Using this approach, Hyeseong Kim 김혜성 started in four of the last five games.
Giants
• Since joining the team, Dominic Smith (.320/.345/.480, 1 HR, 1 SB in 29 PA) started in six of seven games at first base.
• Jerar Encarnacion has only started in four of nine games since coming off the IL.
• Casey Schmitt (.226/.324/.323, 1 HR, 0 SB) started in four straight since coming off the IL.
Marlins
• In five of the last seven games, Heriberto Hernandez started and hit .417/.440/.625 (.529 BABIP) with 1 HR.
Mets
• Another team with too many decent bats. Right now, two of Tyrone Taylor, Brett Baty, Ronny Mauricio, and Luisangel Acuña sit out every game.
Nationals
• Alex Call (.770 OPS, 2 HR, 1 SB) with nine straight starts in right field.
• Jacob Young (vs LHP) and Robert Hassell III (vs RHP) form a centerfield platoon.
• Amed Rosario (vs LHP) and José Tena (vs RHP) form a third base platoon. This platoon might end with Paul DeJong about to come off the IL.
Padres
• No changes.
Phillies
• With Bryce Harper on the IL, Otto Kemp started in six straight games.
Pirates
• Nick Gonzales (.692 OPS, 1 HR) started in nine of 11 games since coming off the IL
Reds
• Connor Joe (vs LHP) and Jake Fraley (vs RHP) form a right field platoon.
• Gavin Lux has been moved to DH and sits regularly when someone else is the DH.
• Will Benson sits against lefties, and his replacement varies.
Rockies
• Ryan Ritter (.697 OPS, 0 HR, 0 SB) started six of seven games at shortstop since being promoted.
