Lineup Analysis (5/3/25)

American League
Angels
• Nolan Schanuel hit second for the last three games after batting sixth for most of the season.
• Kyren Paris is losing playing time (seven starts over the past 10 games) and his hitting just .033/.065/.067 for the past two weeks.
Astros
• Jeremy Peña hit leadoff for the last four games.
• Zach Dezenzo (.250/.286/.300, 0 HR) started in seven of the last nine games. Additionally, he got outfield designation (11 games) in most leagues.
• Jake Meyers (.524 OPS last two weeks) is losing his hold on the centerfield role with just four starts in seven games. Chas McCormick (.900 OPS last two weeks) played there instead. [Ed. note: Meyers did hit 2 HRs on Saturday afternoon in an effort to retain his hold on the job!]
Athletics
• Jacob Wilson moved up the lineup to bat either first or second.
• While normally batting seventh, Nick Kurtz (.259/.250/.259, 0% BB%, 50% K%) started in eight of the last nine games at first base.
• Miguel Andujar’s (.805 OPS) playing time is getting gutted with only four starts in the last 10 games.
• Luis Urías (.250/.339/.481, 4 HR) with 11 straight starts at second base.
Blue Jays
• Since coming off the IL, Daulton Varsho has hit fourth, fifth, and sixth. The move killed the current fantasy value of Addison Barger, Ernie Clement, Nathan Lukes, Alan Roden, and Myles Straw since none are seeing regular playing time.
Guardians
• Gabriel Arias (.764 OPS, 4 HR, 2 SB) is now qualified at second, third, and shortstop in most leagues. Brayan Rocchio has been sitting with four starts in the last seven games.
• When Nolan Jones (.571 OPS) starts (seven of the last 10 games), he hits second.
• Daniel Schneemann (.737 OPS, 2 HR) with seven starts in the last nine games. He may take over the second base job with Arias moving to shortstop.
Mariners
• Ben Williamson (.260/.302/.360, 1 HR) with eight starts in the last 10 games at third base.
• Leo Rivas (.367/.513/.367, 0 HR, 3 SB, .458 BABIP) has four starts at second base with Dylan Moore on the IL.
Orioles
• Ramón Laureano (.226/.242/.516, 2 HR over the past two weeks) with six starts over the last seven games. He’s sharing an outfield spot with Heston Kjerstad (.601 OPS) and Dylan Carlson (.071 OPS).
• With Jordan Westburg on the IL, Ramón Urías (.292/.354/.403, 2 HR) started in six straight games, five at third base.
• Jackson Holliday (vs RHP) and Jorge Mateo (vs LHP) are in a second base platoon.
Rangers
• With Jake Burger now in AAA, monitor who gets plate appearances at first base.
• Nick Ahmed (vs LHP) and Josh Smith (vs RHP) are in a shortstop platoon. Smith sometimes plays another position on his “off” days.
Rays
• Chandler Simpson (.318/.362/.341, 3 SB) hit leadoff in four straight games.
• Against the last two lefties, Jonathan Aranda (.940 OPS) sat with Curtis Mead (.445 OPS) playing at first.
• Kameron Misner (.908 OPS) with eight starts in the last nine games.
• Travis Jankowski (.490 OPS) is stealing time from Christopher Morel (.728 OPS). Morel has only started in seven of the last 10 games.
Red Sox
No changes
Royals
• Two outfielders, Drew Waters (.785 OPS) and Mark Canha (.826 OPS), are finally hitting. Hunter Renfroe (.440 OPS) and Kyle Isbel (.595 OPS) are just failing away.
• Michael Massey’s playing time might end if he continues to hit .190/.206/.220.
Tigers
• Generally, the same few guys play, but the order changes each game.
• Javier Báez (.760 OPS) with 11 starts in last 13 games. This week, he got enough games in the outfield to qualify in most leagues.
Twins
• Brooks Lee (.759 OPS, 2 HR) with 10 starts in 11 games, mainly at third base.
• DaShawn Keirsey Jr., Harrison Bader, and Kody Clemens split one outfield spot.
White Sox
• In his first game off the IL, Chase Meidroth hit leadoff.
• When Edgar Quero plays, he hits third or fourth.
Yankees
• Trent Grisham (.292/.370/.639, 8 HR) started five of six games in centerfield while hitting first or second.
• With Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) out, Pablo Reyes started at second base.
National League
Braves
• Eli White (.967 OPS) started seven straight games.
• Nick Allen (.292/.346/.333, 5 SB) started seven straight games at shortstop.
Brewers
• Caleb Durbin (.699 OPS, 1 HR, 1 SB) started in 12 of the last 13 games at third base.
Cardinals
• Masyn Winn (.732 OPS) batted second in the last three games with Willson Contreras (.637 OPS) moving down the order.
• Jordan Walker (.555 OPS) started in only four of the last six games.
Cubs
• Dansby Swanson (.213/.263/.409, 6 HR, 4 SB) hits eighth.
• Jon Berti (.717 OPS) and Vidal Bruján (.714 OPS) split time at third base.
Diamondbacks
• Jorge Barrosa (.521 OPS) and Alek Thomas (.761 OPS) evenly split the last six games in center field.
Dodgers
• No changes.
Giants
• Christian Koss (.498) started at second base with Tyler Fitzgerald headed to the IL.
Marlins
• Top prospect Agustín Ramírez bats anywhere between third and fifth.
• Eric Wagaman started five games in the outfield while already being qualified at first and third.
• Matt Mervis only starts against righties.

Pirates
• Enmanuel Valdez (vs RHP) and Matt Gorski (vs LHP) form a first base platoon.
• Adam Frazier (.593 OPS) and Jared Triolo (.405 OPS) share the second base job.
Reds
• Noelvi Marte (.967 OPS) hit cleanup over the last two games.
Rockies
• This will be the first full week (6 games) with the Rockies at home.
• Jordan Beck hit second for the last six games.
• Alan Trejo (.250/.250/.375) started at shortstop over the last five games.
• Adael Amador (.635 OPS) and Kyle Farmer (.610 OPS) split time at second base.
