Justin Mason’s Top 50 Third Base: 2/11/2021
Drafts are in full swing and now I am 10 drafts into the season, here are my current ranks for the third base position for 2021. I will post updates every 2-4 weeks as things change with signings, injuries, or news in Major League Baseball.

Hi Justin – small comment and question. This feels quite negative on Bregman in contrast to Jose Ramirez, two players I expect to produce very similarly in 2021 and beyond.
Is it that 2020 is being weighted heavily in judging the future? Are you dinging him for being an Astro or maybe thinking the prior excellence was a result of an aid in pitch recognition? The ball change could impact anyone and I’m not clear as to why Bregman was chosen for that title. Also, the Crawford boxes still exist.
So question is: will you expand a little on the negative take on Bregman? What evidence or reasoning is underlying this comment and placement as 7th and could be lower? Hoping I didn’t miss something for the sake of my dynasty squad(s).
Why do you project them ” very similarly in 2021 and beyond” ?
Look at his homer profile on StatCast. Quite a few of his home runs were wall scrapers in 2019 and 2020. Add in he doesn’t run, then a power dip could make it hard for him to recoup the value of where he is going.

What has Chapman done wrong to put him so low? He is projected by ZIPS (which I know is not the be all end all, I’m an A’s fan after all) to be just a hair below Rendon, becuase he’s not injury prone. In his 2 full seasons he’s put up more than 6 WAR.
