As we head into primetime drafting season, I will be rereleasing my positional ranks. Here are my current ranks for the first base position for 2022, my third of the offseason. 2 Freddie Freeman FA 1B 23.05 I love Freeman at his price. One of the few five categories first basemen
3 Paul Goldschmidt STL 1B 56.17 Goldy is getting older, but he is like a diet Freeman.
4 Matt Olson OAK 1B 52.12 No matter where Olson ends up, it’ll be a better park and team.
5 Pete Alonso NYM 1B 60.71 Kind of underrated for a guy that could lead the Majors in homers.
6 José Abreu CWS 1B 92.07 About as safe as you get.
7 Jake Cronenworth SD 1B, 2B, SS 124.74 Love the triple eligiblity on a great team
8 DJ LeMahieu NYY 1B, 2B, 3B 120.29 I think he bounces back in average and scores a ton of runs.
9 Josh Bell WAS 1B 128.33 I believe in the talent and he is a small change from another monster season.
10 Rhys Hoskins PHI 1B 133.71 Health is the only question mark.
11 C.J. Cron COL 1B 129.62 Love Cron, but health and lineup are questionable.
12 Joey Votto CIN 1B 146.5 Approach change makes the power surge more believable.
13 Jared Walsh LAA 1B 123.79 I am a bit worried about the awful average agaisnt lefties.
14 Ryan Mountcastle BAL 1B, OF 118.81 Park change hurts Mountcastle more than anyone else.
15 Yuli Gurriel HOU 1B 213.52 Not much power, but he is a great average guy in a great lineup.
16 Anthony Rizzo FA 1B 186.79 Where he signs will determine his value moving forward.
17 Frank Schwindel CHC 1B 236.74 Small sample, but I believe in the skills we saw.
18 Nathaniel Lowe TEX 1B 227.07 Lowe made real strides in 2021. He is a small tweak in launch angle from a huge season.
19 Jonathan Schoop DET 1B, 2B 197.4 I can’t remember such a streaky player that is so reliable.
20 Trey Mancini BAL 1B 191.52 I don’t know what to make of Mancini. I want him to be good, but I worry the power isn’t great.
21 Ty France SEA 1B, 2B 154.9 I don’t see the power upside that others do for France.
22 Jesús Aguilar MIA 1B 180.83 Boring vet that is very servicable.
23 Rowdy Tellez MLW 1B 290.43 If he doesn’t platoon, he could have a massive season.
24 Luke Voit NYY 1B 267.67 Health is the only question.
25 Miguel Sanó MIN 1B 259.45 A lot of power for a cheap price.
26 Alex Kirilloff MIN 1B, OF 185.4 Health is a huge question mark.
27 Tyler Stephenson CIN C, 1B 152.64 Finally gets the full time role and he could get time at 1B/DH. Breakout potential.
28 Brandon Belt SF 1B 218.4 Injuries scare me too much.
29 Bobby Bradley CLE 1B 408.6 So much power and so much swing and miss.
30 Bobby Dalbec BOS 1B 227.81 Wide range of outcomes. Could be a 40 homer guy or a minor leaguer.
31 Yoshi Tsutsugo PIT 1B, OF 329.38 I believe in what we saw after the move to Pittsburgh.
32 Spencer Torkelson DET 1B 269.93 Once he is up, he could be great.
33 Keston Hiura MLW 1B 408.43 Swing change is sucking me back in.
34 LaMonte Wade Jr. SF 1B, OF 303.93 I don’t know that he can get to 500 plate appearances.

36 Carlos Santana KC 1B 432.9 Will start until Pratto is ready.
37 Nick Pratto KC 1B 480.24 I think he is up quickly and could be good right away.

Thank you for using ADP the correct way. I read so many analysts from other sites who reference ADP in misleading ways. Some use NFBC all-drafts ADP which rolls in Cutline leagues. That really distorts the results. Others don’t even bother to narrow the search to the last month, which also distorts the results.
