Innings Limit Tracker
This is our new Innings Limit Tracker. This covers young pitchers (age-25 season or under) who could face an innings limit this year. If you think someone should be on the list, please let me know in the comments. Also if you see a source confirming someone’s inning limit one way or the other, please let me know!
I’ll be updating this throughout the season, especially as prospects with potential IP limits come up and start making an impact.
The chart shows how old the player will be for 2016, his 2015 innings breakdown, how many innings he’d have with a 20% increase of his 2015 count, his IP limit status assuming we know something, and then the source.

So even if someone like Bradley pitched 152 innings in 2013, he could be limited to much less in 2016 because of the fewer number of innings pitched in 2015?

Awesome – thanks Paul! Minor thing: maybe change “MIN” to “MiLB” to make it a touch more readable? Took a second for me to figure out that’s what it meant (though it’s late and I’m slow).
Technically the MLB.com article only rules out IP limits for deGrom and Harvey. Ambiguous about Thor.
Doesn’t the 20% rule only apply to young guys whose innings have been ramping up through their career?
The fact that Jose’s 20% rule says 107 doesn’t tell us anything useful. He’s already pitched 170+ before.
Yes, he’s pitched 170 before, but that was in 2013, before the injury. I think the +20% is useful. He still needs to ramp up the innings back to the 170+ level after two years of 50-60.
He might be able to touch 170 IP, but I personally wouldn’t want him to get near 200 this year.
Can you add a column for 2016 expected WAR, or some other way to sort by talent level? My laziness requires that I dismiss…well, the dismissable.

Its interesting, but I think not considering the previous seasons inning jump is a flaw. Looking at Severino for example, he threw 161 something innings last year, however he only threw 113 IP the year before, for a staggering 44% increase last year. There is no way the Yankees let him increase another 20% this year
Actually, flaw is the wrong word, just saying people should take into account his previous IP jump and not assume 20% is OK

Huge fan of your work! Is Vincent Velasquez a possible candidate for this list. He was bounced between the minors, rotation, and than the bullpen. Seems like he might fit.
Awesome list Paul! Is it reasonable to think some veterans coming off injury may have an innings limit this year (Wainwright or Darvish)? If so, they could be worthwhile additions.
